Question about Logitech OEM S220 2.1 Speaker Black Computer Speakers
I have the Logitech S220 2.1 speaker system. I'd like to use them both on my laptop and IPOD (not at the same time - just have the option of either). When I have both the green and red cables connected in the audio and mic ports on the back of the computer, the speakers work fine. When I plug the green audio cable into my IPOD (red mic cable is not plugged into anything), the speakers don't work. Is this normal behavior for this system (i.e. - both cables must be plugged in) or is my system broken? If it is normal operation, is there a way around it? Thanks so much in advance!!!!

First thing, you have plugged in to the wrong point, plug in the speaker to the headphone slot(mostly light green in color).
MIC point is specifically for MIC not speakers.
The point which works for your headphones would work perfectly for speakers.

Thank you for choosing fixya.com. Go to your local computer accessories dept. store (Wal-Mart, Fred-Meyer, or other Electronics store that sells computers and accessories) - Ask a representative about a splitter that will allow you to plug the two speaker wires into the splitter, which will then plug into the one speaker port on your computer.(may need to take wires, if detachable) or speakers with you. This will make it easier to locate the correct adapter (splitter) for your speakers.
I hope this information is useful, and I hope you find what you need to get your speakers working.
Thank you again for choosing fixya.com,

connect your speakers on to the power wall socket and check by touching on the lead which you have to insert into the pc.If you hear some sound then your speakers are ok. after that insert it into the PC.Reinstall the sound driver . I think there is some driver problem

there should be a white/red coaxial cable attached with the speakers. Those wires are the ones you connect to your screen. On the side or the back of your screen you should see the same corresponding input for these cables. most speakers are user friendly so just plug and play.
