Question about Bush 2871NTX 28" TV

1 Answer

Broken on/0ff switch

I have a Bush TV model 2071NTX. When I went to turn it on on the switch, there was a "boing" sound, as if a spring came loose and the tv would not come on nd the switch is now a little loose. There was nothing going on on the screen which leads me to think that its just the switch that is the problem. Would I be able to fix this at home and what would I need? It seems ridiculous to spend a lot of money for someone to come and fix it if the problem is that simple.

Re: broken on/0ff switch

As you are not a technical person get it fixed by a skilled man. it is a simple job of hardly 30 minutes. new switch is available at low cost. it can be connected directly if you do not want to change switch. caution please do not not open back cover unless plug is out as high voltage is input to switch

We have a Bush TV, model number RF6685VPL/A. We switched it on thismorning and the colours have all gone strange, with various shades of purple around the outside of the screen. It has been turned off,...

This sounds like a purity fault due to a magnetic build up, you will need to call out a service engineeer to have the TV de-gaussed firstly, which is a simple process. If this does not cure the fault, then the internal circuit for de-magnetising maybe a problem. The worst outcome can be the tube is at fault & would need replaced.
