I have a Dell gx260, re-installed XP (from 2000) - bought a wireless card to pick up my wireless router (using my rickety old laptop to post this) - but it complains about the ethernet controller. Installed the software for the card, when I mouse-over the icon it says no PCI card installed (except it knows something is there!) Downloaded chipset drivers and 3Com drivers from Dell, no success - going to try the Gigabit one. Got the built in ethernet port to show up, but this computer is too far away from my connection to hard wire it. Need wireless!

Re: Resolution

You need to update your current video card built into the pc. Go to this link, it's for your GX260. Save this link in your favorites. You'll need to return here later as you update.
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=PLX_PNT_P4_GX260&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
Open control panel, than open Display. Click the settings tab. Than click Advanced, click on the Adapter tab. You'll need to write down the Adapter type & the Adapter Information. Now you can download from the link the correct drivers for your video card.
Enjoy & take your time with this.
