Question about Siemens 24 in. SE20A591 Slim-Line Free-standing Dishwasher

Open Question

Siemens SE20790GB/02 Dishwasher FD 8005

Error message ' wrong couple ! ' has appeared since we had a power cut. Machine was off at the time, working perfectly beforehand and recently serviced. Tried switching off and on at mains, in the hope that it would reset itself. Called out my local repairman, who checked all obvious things, then called Siemens tech. dept who said they had never heard of this message. Electricians tested power supply to socket; that is fine. Has anybody got any ideas?

SOURCE: Siemens dishwasher pump runs while door open wont turn on!

There are a few possibities...
if you remove the lid and take the two t20 screw off the left side panel at the front you could check the pressure chamber and its hose are not blocked. Use the link and go to page 4, part 263834 and 361113. You can also remove 165263 (remove t20 screw via the sump after all filters are removeds) this will expose the pump impellor and you can check for any obstruction. There may be water in the base of the d/w (base as below the tank, not under the filter) this will activate the flood safety and give the scenario you have described, so check valve, hoses etc for leaks. You will have to manual clear the water from the base pan to deactivate the safety device. Sit the front of the d/w on a large tower and tip the whole unit forward, the base water will then come out. Whilst you have the side panel off, check that the red rod connected to the pressure chamber is not activating the microswitch. ps I appreciate the link is not for your model but the part placing should be the same.
I hope this helps, Good Luck.

Hi Steve

E24 error normally indicates failure to drain, the first thing to check is that the water is actually being supplied to the appliance and is turned on. If it is then check the water inlet valve, if the valve tests fines then clean the drain pump assembly completely as that might be clogged causing this issue. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Error code 02 ewd6505gso

Sandra Lawson,

Getting an Error Code 2 on your dishwasher, means there is something going on with the turbidity sensor. This is the sensor that determines how dirty the water is which in essence determines how long the cycle will run.
What you can try to do is to reset the appliance for 30 minutes. You will do this by cutting the power at the circuit breaker and leaving it off for no less than 30 minutes. Try running the cycle again and if you are still receiving the Error Code 2, I would recommend contacting the manufacturer for further assistance.

-Best Regards-

Error code OE; dishwasher stops with error message 2 min into cycle, drainage seems OK, water doesn't appear to pump into machine - any advice?

The most common cause of an OE error code on a modern LG dishwasher is:
1. Blocked drain hose
2. Obstruction in the sump area (beneath the filter, which needs to be removed to check for onstruction)
3. Failing drain motor.
Good Luck!!!

Siemens Built in Dishwasher on the Loose

Check if the front legs are still properly extended. Over time they like to screw back in. You are supposed to lock them with a small screw.
If you wedge the machine between the countertop and the floor with the screws you probably will be OK.
If the brackets broke of the machine you will need to secure them again.

Dishwasher won't drain all the way

After cleaning the air gap thingy my machine works fine again. This thing sits on the left lower back side of the machine (left when you are standing in front of the machine). It is a transparent plastic box with 3 hoses attached (drain hose from pump, drain hose to the outside and water). Inside the box is a black plastic float. If debris gets caught in there the float gets stuck.
Solution is to remove the part by pulling the 2 drain hoses out (there is a small black clip holding them in) and unclamp and remove the water hose. Rinse and shake the housing until the float moves freely again and reassemble.
