Question about ASUS A7V400-MX Motherboard

1 Answer

A7V400-MX will not boot

This A7V400-MX has worked fine for many months. One day it stopped booting. The power supply and hard drive come up, stop, then start up again. The screen shows the Video card settings in the upper left hand corner. The screen goes blank and instead of performing the POST operation the screen displays "ASUS A7V400-MX. Press to show POST Screen. to enter AWDFlash utility" Pressing TAB or ALT F2 does nothing. The system is hung with this screen. Rebooting does the same thing. There is no response from any Keyboard functions.

In such cases its practical to change the SMPS with a working power supply of the same rating and then trying it out. If with the new power supply it works fine then cange your SMPS. Also make sure that all cables are snug tight and generally ree from dust. The same applies to your RAM too................sodeep

Mysteriously stopped booting up

I hate when people just guess what is wrong at sites like this, but I'm "guessing" your power supply needs to be replaced. I've seen similar symptoms before. They're cheap and easy to replace. I'm 80% sure that will fix your problem. Just make sure it has the correct standard or SATA power connectors for your hard drive(s) and CD drive.

I have a P5GC-MX/1333 motherboard. today I replaced my power supply (seems as if the old one just stopped working). After doing so on boot (=starting the computer) the screen does not turn on, the...

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

Had trouble booting the computer over time. Sometimes power light would come on and nothing else. By unplugging, waiting 15sec it would power up. Over time this stopped working. Eventually power light...

Time to look for a new computer. That and take out your hard drive to copy your files over.

Sounds like motherboard problem. Probably not worth repair.

I've got an HP desktop with similar problems. It turned on one day just fine. The next day not. I don't even get the boot up screens. Disconnecting Hard Drive and CD/DVD components do not help. I should at least get some BIOS POST beeps and a Hard Drive Not Found or such. I do not. On occassion it will boot to a blank screen with white cursor in upper left. Most the time no screen at all. On rare occassion it comes right on and boots Windows. I guess it could be the power switch ... but I doubt that.

It doesn't boot from hard disk

can you still go to CMOS SETUP?
how many beep and beep long of your pc while booting?
if you can still go to cmos setup try delete all partition using your windows setup then install a fresh copy of windows. if there are no partition found means theres a problem with your hardisk try put your hard disk to secondary if in primary or use different data cable might be the problem if the data cable is not the problem see the power supply of your hard disk is fine try swap the power suppply of your hard disk and cd-rom drive or extra power supply if power supply is not problem .
Buy a Brand New Harddisk might fix it your hard disk might have plenty of bad sector thats why doesn't boot anymore.
Hope i help you out ^)^

A7V400 motherboard problem

You can get the latest drivers from this link: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us. For speeding up booting you should be having at least 1 GB memory(RAM) and you could also use Advanced System Optimizer ver2<, which can be downloaded by using uTorrent. If you can configure it properly, you'll find your PC responding like a race horse.......sodeep

Can't reboot Compaq/Presario desktop, (power supply is working)

If the system recovery disk doesn't work it usually mans that the hard drive is bad. I would change the hard drive and use the system recovery disk on it after replacement.
