Water Leaking - Freezer

I have a Frigidaire FRS6R4EB3 double door (23 inch I think) which I had bought in Aug 2005. There is water leaking from the freezer section on to the floor and can also hear a humming sound as it cuts in and out in intervals. What could the problem be and what am I looking at in costs ?? Will there be a need to buy a new fridge as it has only been 4 years ??
Experts please help !

My mother's fridge had a leak on the freezer side in the front. I removed the cover below the doors and found a plastic coupling in the water line to the water in the door option, when anyone filled their glass with water the coupling leaked. I bought a new plastice 1/4 inch coupling and replaced the old one and the problem was solved. The coupling costs about $3.00 a Lowe's and it took about 2 min. to change.

Frigidaire upright freezer is leaking water from the door What is the problem?

Hello friend, I appreciate your post!

From the information you have provided your Frigidaire freezer is leaking water from the door. It could be a build-up of condensation on the interior of your freezer or the drain line. I would recommend checking the gasket to make sure that there is no visible damage you should also check the gasket to make sure it is sealing properly. You can use a dollar bill to check the gasket. Place it between the freezer and door, if it comes out with little resistance then the gasket is bad.

You can also perform a manual defrost on the freezer by disconnecting power from it for at least four to six hours. I hope this is helpful information. -Matt

Leaking water from my refrigerator

Tubing in back of refrigerator leading to the ice tray is jammed with solid ice and whence maker timer calls for water back pressure prevents water from reaching the ice maker tray. Remove the tubing from the back and pull out the plastic tube that feeds the ice maker tray. Put the tube in hot water to melt the the and blow through it to make sure itis clear. When reinserting the plastic tube stick your head inside the freezer door and be sure the end of the tube overlaps the tray. The problem will be solved but the same thing will happen at some later date. I believe I solved this problem too. I got a roll of surgical adhesive bandage that's about a sixteenth inch thick and insulated the tube to prevent it from freezing again. It's been two months since and thank God it worked. The Frigidaire engineers could use this one.

Frigidaire fridge leaks where ice maker is on

Your leaking problem gives two possibilities. The water control valve for the ice maker side is defective and while shut off the water will continue to slowly flow and leak into the freezer compartment. The other possibility id the condensate defrost drain is blocked and frozen over behind the rear panel of the freezer and at the bottom of th coils. I believe your defrost condensate drain has a blockage of ice and will need to be defrosted and clean the condensate line from the freezer to the condensate collection plate below your refrigerator. Most times the blockage begins slowly until the opening of the drain hole under the evaporator freezes itself shut. Below is a link to some solutions I have collected over a period of time. Also has a short movie that makes the repair look simpler. There are many reasons for this happening for example water leaking from a water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, a crack in the defrost pan, water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet, but most are caused by a defrost drain line blockage. Below is a link that may be helpful so try to take it all in and use the parts that most refer to your specific problem, Thanks Sea Breeze

Leaking water on the front corner of the freezer side. We have turned off the water to the icemaker and have turned off the icemaker. Still leaking, not fast, but each day I clean up a puddle.

That is from your defrost drain either being clogged with food, or covered with ice. Behind the back wall in the freezer is a drain that empties underneath the fridge. If that drain gets blocked or froze over then the water will dump into the floor of the freezer and out the door gasket. Look in your freezer floor for ice build up. If you don't see anything like that or if you think the water is coming from underneath the fridge, then it is your condensate pan underneath. They crack sometimes.

Water leaking from underneath fridge

If you have a ice maker inside your freezer, check where the water connects to the back. I think you will find a leaking connection. Tighten connection to fix the leak.

Frigidaire, ice on floor of freexer

check to see if the defrost drain is not frozrn over or stopped up
this is the only way that water can get into the freezer
frost could and melt but dont think that i would check the drain at the bottom of the rear freezer panel if you see ice it is stopped up for sure
if all is clear there go to the ice maker, have had some that are overfilling and runnig over the ice maker into the bottom of the freezer

Three way solenoid valve

All you can do is replace the part. I am not sure on frigidaire parts, they use to have 1 year warranty on replacement, some companies have gone to 90 days.
