Question about Toshiba 36AFX61 36" TV
Good day, I recently encounterd a problem with the 36AFX61. While viewing a program, I went to change the channel using the cable remote and the TV set just shut it self down. I turned it back on however, no picture or sound is present. I'm also unable to change channels using the TV or cable remote. I thought the TV had gone bad however, I'm able to view channels using the Picture In Picture feature. This confirms that the TV is receiving the signal and working properly. It seems that I can't change the settings from PIP to Main. i've looked through the manual as well but nothing helpful regarding what I'm experiencing. I may have hit a feature on the cable remote by error. No luck with that as yet. I even unplugged the TV for a while and plugged back in with no change. Here is the link to the manual: http://www.tacpservice.toshiba.com/ConsumerProductSupport/Manuals/TV/2001/32afx61_36afx61_ownman.pdf Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.
I uncovered the problem. The "analog tuner" seems to have gone bad. The part is $25 -$36. The set can still be used however. I just removed the coaxial cable from ANT 1 in the back of the TV (this is what I believe has become defective)which was going to a VCR. I then just used composite cables(red, white, yellow)to bring the signal directly to the TV from the cable box, rather than the VCR. All works however, will replace the defective part.

the fourth option, which is "Channel Block." Highlight the Channel
