Question about MSI 661FM3-V SIS661FX LGA775 2DDR 400 2 PCI S-RAID ATX (04661FM3V) Motherboard
I have a new sata LG dvd room,it work correctly, but i can't boot from it. I tried to chang bios setting , but i don't know the correct setting
motherboaed MSI 661FM3-V SIS661FX , IDE HD
PLZ can you tell me the correct setting to boot from sata dvd
First make sure that the DVD drive is the only drive listed to be booted from. Make it the first and only drive. Unfortunately most motherboards have an issue with booting from a SATA DVD drive. Secondly turn off Sata RAID if you have it. If this doesn't work then your motherboard isn't capable. It is too old and from what I can tell from the manual it is running SATA 986p, which is only 150mp/s thats not even Sata 1.5. Early Sata controllers couldn't do installations of OSs at all.
