I recommend using usb WiFi adapter it is better you can also connect it to usb extension cable. I used cheap one from Chinese company TP-Link with my Toshiba Satellite A30 and it worked great. Just pay attention on what speed and range you need. Most recent is 802.11n it's faster and better. There are also 802.11g also widely avalible but it's slower and has worse range.
Good luck!

You can buy a wireless card and installation is super easy. Unscrew the two F3 screws and you can open the cover on the back of the laptop (the smallest one with a card symble). I think the card (intel 2000?) I bought was $10. on ebay. You can also download the drive from intel. If it does not work, try to cover pins 9 and 11 (number 5 and 6 on top). you can just cut a narrow piece (about 2mm)of scotch tape and paste it on the card. for some reason it will then work fine.

Probably the easiest way to do it is to use one of these (a 150N USB adapter). I've linked to overstock.com only as a reference but the price plus shipping is pretty affordable. You can search for these items on ebay also.

NOTE: Most wireless N adapters are backwards compatible to B & G so you should be able to connect to just about anything with them. In general USB wireless adapters have less range than a cardbus adapter but they're pretty easy to install and use...

Yes, as long as new HD is same type. old ATA to new ATA. (SATA to SATA)

However, don't forget to use a cooler. It will run fast but cause more heat!

CANNOT FIND THE DRIVERS FOR WIRELESS AFTER REPLACING HARD DRIVE

First you need to get the name of your wireless card. You may be able to find it in start>accessories>system tools>system info and click on network adapter. Once you have the name of your adapter, go to www.microsoft.com and search for the Hardware Compatibility List. This will have all of the wireless cards that are compatible with XP. They also have the drivers at the same place. Second choice, go to the wireless manufacturers website, they always have the latest drivers available for download. If you have any questions let me know.
