Well sometimes you have to disassemble the whole thing, but first have a carefull look(maybe use a torch to light there) if you can pop it out from the top with a thin screwdriver or better a knife.
Notebooks tend to have plastic under the keyboard, but still be carefull, cause the plastic "shelf", on the other hand tends to have holes in it(any choice of small and big).

And note that notebooks have to be disassembled carefully and it's sometimes tricky, but on the other hand they're easily put together(if you don't damage them too badly during disassembly).

But I hope this one just needs to have a keyboard popped out(ah and don't damage the interconnect, be slow on it, mainly for motherboard integrity reasons)

No matter how careful you may be, knocking a cup of coffee or spilling a glass of soda over your keyboard may happen. This does not, however, mean the end of your keyboard. If you act quickly, you may be able to fix your wet keyboard to avoid any corrosion of its electronic components or any short circuit which might render it unusable. By following a few recommendations, you should be able to fix your wet computer keyboard.

Unplug the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any corrosion or short circuit. If you spilled water over your laptop's keyboard, turn your computer off by clicking on "Shut Down" on "Turn Off" in the start menu, unplug the power supply and remove the battery. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake it to remove most of the water from it. Take a hair dryer and set it to its lowest temperature setting. Use it to dry any water which might remain under your keyboard's keys. Wait at least 12 hours before plugging your keyboard into your computer again. If your computer is a laptop, wait 12 hours before turning it on again. For Other Liquids Disconnect the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any short circuit or corrosion. Turn your computer off by selecting "Shut Down" or "Turn Off" in the start menu, remove the battery and disconnect the power supply. Place paper towels on a table, turn the keyboard upside down and shake it over them to allow most of the liquid to fall down. Take a few clean paper towels and wipe the liquid off your keyboard's keys. To clean between the keys, you can also use cotton swabs with just a little bit of water. If the liquid which you spilled over your keyboard contained a high amount of sugar, such as soda or sugared coffee, you might have to remove some of your keyboard's keys to clean the surface under the keys with paper towels or swabs. You can do so by lifting them gently with a screwdriver or by using a key remover, which you can find in some IT stores. Wait at least 12 hours before using your keyboard again. If your computer is a laptop, wait the same length of time before turning it on again. Tip

Spilled liquid on Keyboard!

1. Purchase plastic keyboard cover. 2. Keep coffee etc. anywhere not near keyboard.

For spill, unplug keyboard. If non sugar liquid, invert keyboard, shake or tap gently. Wipe with lent free absorbent cloth while still inverted. If soda or coffee with sugar, pour 1/4 cup of clear clean (distilled the best) water onto keyboard (yes), Then invert. Let dry a minimum of several hours still inverted. I cheat with a hairdryer on low 6-12 inches. After keyboard is completely dry (and cool). Plug in after turning computer off, restart, test all keys, including shift, option etc. If keys miss or don't work buy new keyboard and cover! Aloha, Cliff

Liquid spills

Todays notebooks & laptops come equipped with spill resistant keyboards. Thats a big help in itself. But some are not . If your notebook has suffered a liquid spill while its on , IMMEDIATELY shut it down. GET AWAY from carpeting or metal furniture or objects: stand on wood or cement floor only. Turn the unit and place on its side to drain it from the liquid (NOT UPSIDE DOWN) and to avoid further damage to mainboard and keyboard. DO NOT TURN IT ON AGAIN  . Remove the battery, hard disk drive, CDROM, memory modules, remove back cover, until exposed to mainboard. Take conventional hair dryer, blow dry using HIGH heat, slowly move over peripherals and mainboard  five inches away with  Extra drying process on keyboard and mainboard. Using a few cotton balls, pat down any excess liquid by absorbing into cotton -- blow dry this area intensley for long time (20-35 minutes, depending on amount of liquid spill). Wait a few days , replace all parts and turn on notebook.

I spilled liquid on my HP Probook 4320S (with spill resistant keyboard). Dried it up straight afterwards. Now it won't power up

Take it to a service shop asp, key board will need to be replaced, and the laptop will need to be assessed for motherboard damage.

My inspiron mini 1018 notebook's keyboard is not working properly. The left shift key appears to be stuck and I really having a hard time using the whole keyboard. I remember having spilled a few drops...

When water spills into a notebook, you should fully disassemble the notebook & thoroughly inspect its inside. Look for any traces of liquid on the circuit boards & on other components. On circuit boards, liquid damage appears in the form of whitish traces. These needs to be wiped off. This can be done using a tooth brush moistened with few drops of hand sanitizer liquid.
Check all internal connectors & make sure that no liquid seeped into them. Dry them if needed.
When you are done, re-assemble back the notebook.
If the liquid fell on the keyboard & you found out that the keyboard is no longer working, then you might have to replace the keyboard.

My return key is not functioning on my apple keyboard.

Buy a new keyboard. They are cheap. One possible solution is to allow the keyboard to thoroughly dry and try it. You can pry up the key and look and see if it needs to be dusted out with some air, or cleaned of whatever was spilled on it. Perhaps alcohol on a Qtip on the moving parts. Not sure what "something" splashed on it. Root beer? Water? Big difference. I would visually inspect, try to dust, then clean with alcohol. Let it dry thoroughly and give it a shot. Short course, buy a new monitor. Good luck.

Keyboard problem

must disassemble and remove keyboard. Look for 1.) some liquid that has spilled on left side of keyboard and then dried leaving a film that is preventing electrical contact or 2.) a keyboard connector has loosened.
