Question about Washing Machines

Washing machine not filling with water not washing but will empty and will spin

At the start of washing cycle nothing happens at all.Machine does not fill with water and when you manually advance dial to further into wash mode machine starts to spin.It does not rinse in (rinse /spin) cycle but spins only and of course when dial advances to spin mode it does that effecively with pump operating. I have checked taps on wall and tubes to machine all clear and working.I have checked connections to machine where hose filters are for hot and cold and they are clear. Also looked at both inlet valves they are closed to allowing water in.How does unit tell them to open?Checked tube to pressure chamber seemed clear. When i blew air thru tube to to pressure switch I saw it click etc.Can you please help.Do not know what to do next?Replace inlet valves?Pressure swith? or use machine as anchor for my boat!.

It's a Hoover top loading washing machine. Water isn't filling. One probable cause was>>>>"Hose filter was plugged"....what does this mean????...and where i am suppose to locate this plugged hose filter...

will not fill with cold water but hot does work. whirlpool washer. took hoses off, it seems clear. Does whirlpool have soleniods?

I had this same problem, and after fiddling and reasearching i assumed it wa sthe solenoid as the guy below said.. however, in our defeat after putting the machine back together, it worked. Apparently one of the connectors was loose!

Thanks, it was the water valves/solenoids at the top of the machine where the tap hoses screw onto the machine.

Like the anchor idea?, no sorry, this does sound like the water is not getting to the machine, so, when you turn the machine on does it make a slight buzzing noise, if so the fault is no water in the pipes to the machine (from the house), if no buzzing check the solenoids with a multimeter for open circuit (removing the 2 wires first) oh and the plug obviously / replace solenoid if needed, i am sure this will cure your problem, if so rate me please, thank you

Moffatt washer is washing and draining but not spinning out the clothes

All content © 2000 © 2009 Washerhelp
> Home / Repairs DIY washing machine advice (part 8) Washing machine sticks or stops mid-cycle repairs-sm.gif A very common fault on washing machines is when the program timer fails to complete the cycle and stops part way through. Many people blame the program timer for this but although it is a possible cause, there are many more likely causes for this fault. The program will stick if the heater isn't working, if the thermostat fails, if it can't fill up with cold water for the rinses, if it can't empty the water etc. There are too many possible causes of this fault to be able to give anything other than rudimentary advice. However, the common causes of a washing machine sticking that can easily be fixed are filling and emptying problems.
Check that the cold water supply is available to the washing machine, which is a common cause for sticking on rinses. If the washing machine appears to stop mid-cycle and isn't filling with water on rinses then see Washing machine won't fill with water (or no water goes into washing machine) before calling an engineer. If the washing machine can't drain the water out then it will stick on the rinses, or it will abort with an error code. If you can see water still inside the washing machine then check the following advice Washing machine won't empty water

My frigidaire top loader fills with water at the beginning of the wash...then nothing. it just sits there full of water.

Hi, could be your timer motor, timer or water level switch, first push timer knob in and manually advance to wash or spin cycle (program) then pull knob, see if machine operates, let me know, then i can tell you exactly what's problem.also advance timer, to spin cycle (program) machine should pump out water, or you can lower drain hose into bucket and empty machine, you should empty machine and try again, let me know what happened, we can solved this together. good luck.

Asko 10505 runs through was cycle in approx. 30 seconds, then wont drain. Simply stops. It doesnt matter which cycle I start with, the dial moves quickly to stop. It fill with water and spins. ANY HELP...

hi sir' start the wash machine empty and see if it happens when nothing is in it.
2. When machine is off, open the top grab the centerpiece inside the wash machine and pull and push it slowly, does it move? (For safety unplug the machine)
3. Make sure machine is 100% level (front to back, left to right)

The most common thing is bad drum bearing, which force the wash machine out of whack when in spin / wash. Which are common and the best thing is to call Maytag.

Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x
