Why am i getting a macromedia flash warning? (by 4 users)

can you pleas explain to me why am i getting a macromedia flash warning,it is saying could not find macromedia flash.what do i need to do.as i have download adobe flash player 9.0.47.0

When the computer is left idle an error message comes up - Could not find the Macromedia flash. I do not have that installed so why am I getting this message? It i driving me nuts and I don't know how to fix it.

I keep getting an error message saying cannot find macromedia flash, I have downloaded adobe flash but nothing has changed.

DR SIR/MADAM- MY PROBLEM IS THAT WHENEVER I AM USING A WEBSITE ON MY COMPUTER LIKE REDIFFMAIL.COM ETC, DURING ACCESS THE MESSAGE APPEARS ON THE SCREEN THAT INTERNET BROWSER HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM WITH ADD-ON AND NEED TO CLOSED. CURRENTLY ADD-ON FILE RUNNING IS MACROMEDIAFLASH PLAYER. KINDLY HELP. TKS AND REGARDS.

yep worked a treat, had norton give me a flash9d.ocx error just copied it and pasted it in the same folder then renamed it and voila..

cool.

I had the same problem. Adobe sent me the following solution and it worked for me. See if it works for you. Especially note the part about the missing or incorrectly named ocx file.

I understand that you#re getting this message, #Could not find the Macromedia Flash#
Could you verify if you#ve tried to upgrade your Flash Player version before you got this message?

If so, it is possible that Flash Player did not register correctly when you tried to upgrade it as a result, the ocx file cannot be located.

Let's try to resolve this by doing the Following:
1 Please go to the version test page to verify your Flash Player version: www.adobe.com/go/tn_15507

2 Browse to C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash

3 Please check if you have these two ocx files: Flash9d.ocx and Flash.ocx

4 If flash.ocx is missing, please make a copy of flash9d.ocx and paste it on the same directory.

5 Rename the copy to flash.ocx

Please check if the issue still persists.

I have both these files yet when visiting a web site it claimed I did not have the Flash9d.ocx file ,nw my ? is these files are in the Flash Player folder however not in the Shockwave Flash Player version 10 ,is this my prob ? If I copy an apste these two files into the shockwave file woul i mess up the installation of that product ? rosierain@netzero.net
