If the scanner cartridge goes in ok and is recognized by the printer, but print heads are not, it is because the printer still thinks it has a scan job to finish. Install the scanner ( IS-12) do a scan job, make sure you complete it, wait for the scan program to tell you to install the print cartridge, and that will probably solve your problem.

Someone did a scan and then put the print cartridge back in before the scanning program got to that part.

I have not solved the problem. I just changed to a different printer. I had a bj50 printer and it use to do this and would change the printhead but they are expense and I have 3 different ones so believe it is something else that is wrong with this one.

My Canon BJC-85 Printer beeps 3 times and the cartridge printhead comes to the center and the green power light continues to blink. I have replaced the cartridges I have replaced the printhead with the...

3 beeps is still telling you that the printhead has a problem. Did you put in a new printhead? You also have to tell your printer by holding the resume button for the correct amount of beeps to set it for the printhead you have installed.

This is for when it beeps 8 times, but you might try this...

You should clean or replace the absorber pad at some point but most of the time you can get away with resetting the ink counter a few times before you need to clean or replace the pad.

    1: Unplug Power Cord
2: Hold POWER and RESUME buttons
    3: Plug in Power Cord
4: Release buttons after the printers starts up
    5: Hold CARTRIDGE and RESUME
    6: Press POWER
7: Release all buttons after the beeps
    8: Press CARTRIDGE 16 times
    9: Press RESUME
    10: Unplug the Power cord

Canon BJC 6000 Beeps and Power Light Flashes Orange

The 6 beeps along with the orange light stands for "Re-install BJ cartridge or replace it". You might have already fixed the problem by replacing the cartridge, and you're still stuck with the error indication. Waste Error Reset 1: Power off printer 2: Hold Resume button then press and hold POWER, the beeper will sound once. 3: Hold POWER and release RESUME 4: Press RESUME twice 5: When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME three(3) times. The indicator should be orange. 6: Press Power to set data If it still doesn't go away, try cleaning the contacts the cartridge makes with the printhead. Dip the carts contacts(dipping only the contact area) in shallow hot water for a minute, then wipe dry with a cloth that doesn't shed fiber. Also clean the contacts on the printhead using a damp cloth, maybe also some alcohol. If it still doesn't go away you have to think of replacing the printhead, or chucking it. Good luck
