Question about Jenn-Air JCD2295HES Side by Side Refrigerator

Water collects and freezes in the bottom of the freezer

Recently my side-by-side started collecting water and freezing it in the bottom of the freezer compartment, I know not from where the water originates, the ice maker and water dispenser work as normal... I noticed the problem after the freezer went through it's normal defrost cycle and water began dripping out onto the floor. I removed the ice tray and made sure nothing was keeping it from sliding in all the way and that the water tube was still firmly connected. Where could the water be coming from?

My freezes freezes up once a month. When I defrost it manually, water drips from the (inside of the freezer) door. Looks like something from the water dispenser in the freezer door is broken. do you think the auto defrost not working is related to the water accumulation in the door?

Your defrost drain is clogged. Get all the ice out and get to the defrost drain hole at the very rear bottom of the freezer. I use a piece of plastic tubing to run down them and clean them out, but you can use a piece of wire if it doesn't have a sharp end that will damage the tube. You can also remove the rear cover of the fridge and you will see the tube going from the cabinet to the drain pan and clean it from there. Post back if you need further help.

Samsung RS2630sh. Drain line Freezes shut. Water drains to bottom of freezer and freezes there. Cooling coils are not collecting ice. Drain line has been cleaned. Why does it keep freezing shut?

If water still collecting and freezing at freezer bottom then drain line is not cleared and still obstructing the normal flow of water downward.

You have a clogged drain system in the freezer, as the unit will defrost daily, the water can't leave the freezer properly and the water collects. You need to de-ice the freezer and clean out the drain tube at the bottom of the freezer section under the evaporator. Good Luck

That sounds quite normal as the rear panel is the evaporator skin. Check the drain hole at the bottom isn't blocked

Refrigerator model GR-B247WV Bottom of freezer compartment has frozen water recently. Could it be the heating element or the computer chip is faulty? Is there a number I could call for repair? Thank...

You may have a blocked drain. Therefore when your fridge goes into a defrost cycle, the melted water usually travels down a drain hole and collects in a container above your compressor, which eventually evaporates.

If the drain gets blocked, the water collects at the bottom of freezer and freezes.

If the defrost mechanism fails you will have ice and frost building up all along the back plate of the freezer, not just the bottom.

Water collecting and freezing in bottom of freezer

Hi, Remove the rear inside panel of the freezer and locate the drain hole under the evaporator coil. Remove the ice and flush the drain hole with hot water to make sure it is free. You can try running a soft wire through the drain also.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

GE TFX20JR side by side/water leaks out freezer during defrost

Yes, you are correct, that is a drain. Use a turkey baster with hot (not boiling) water to flush out the drain tube until water will flow out into the drain pan under the refrig. (where the air blown over it will cause it to evaporate)
