SOURCE: gas range top burners too hot

Get the installation manual for your range, and find the part on adjusting the low heat for the burners. On my Whirlpool, I found there is an adjustment screw inside the control knob shaft of each burner. The manual says turn the burner on low, remove the knob, then turn this screw until the flames are 1/4" high. Super-easy, it took me 5 minutes to do. I am sure all ranges have similar adjustments, might be in different locations - check the manual.

SOURCE: Burner no longer functions

two thiongs, you might have a bad switch( under control knob), or before you try that ck the old elemnt that you replaced, on the back of the limiter( the glass rod that goes through elemnt itlself), you'll see little letters 1a,2a,1b,2b.--- new replacemnets depending on age are wired differently, they too will have 1a2a1b2b but in different position. id check that first

SOURCE: Front right burner won't go on high, keeps continuous low flame only

Dear lejeunelm

Righteo then, this is a problem that will probably require you to send the appliance back to where you got it from as there is either a fault with a valve, the gas regulator, or a problem with the supply. Even if this fault is caused by an electronic regulator (controls the amount of gas that is pushed through the burning chamber, and to the temperature it heats (if your gas cooker has this), then it is SERIOUSLY ADVISABLE to get yourself a corgi approved gas engineer to look at this fault and fit the part. Obiously becuase gas is not only explosive, but also pretty poisonous either before or after combustion has occured.

Now id did mention that the fault could be associated with either the supply, regulator, valve or anything that controls the flow of gas, but the fault could also be caused by something as simple as the twist knobs on the front of the cooker unit. If the knob either becomes stuck, or is not in the correct position then obviously the gas settings will be wrong. Now behind this knob, there probably will be a flow valve, which will control the amount of gas being delivered to burn. Probably a good point of fact to get the valve checked too. Even more reason if you get a funny smell of gas that is being emitted, as this would indicate a leak either with the valve or elsewhere in the system (which causes pressure to drop and hence low amounts of gas being delivered to the combustion area).

I would suggest calling out an engineer to check your gas supply, and definitely take the coioker back to where you got it from. Although this may seem like drastic measures, it is not as drastic as the potentail risks to you and those around you if the problem is serious. (explosions, fires and poisonings are common with gas problems if they are serious enough). It is probably wise to also do this if you have an insurance premium on your house/ flat or place of residence.

Now there could be chance that you your good self are an engineer to some degree, or have experiance with gas fixtures and fittings, now if this is the case, then i would start by suggesting a trip online to and then typing the manufacturer/ vendor model of your cooker into google with the words "service sheets" or "repair manual" or "repair instructions". Now this will give you a list of websites that will offer you the chance to get hold of the information that you require, however some of these sit6es may charge you for the technical data, and some even so expensive, that the cost of the sheets is outweighed by the cost of taking the unit/ getting a professional in to do the job for you.

Now lets say that you did do the job yourself, then you may need parts, and i reckon yet again will be the best place for you to start searching for the parts. NOTE:::IF YOU DO ORDER ONLINE, CHECK THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT FROM THIRD PARTY VENDORS. ONLY PURCHASE APPROVED PARTS FOR FUITTING TO YOUR MAKE AND MODEL OF COOKER/ GAS UNIT)

Finally, if you do get your appliance worked on, always get a second opinion and always demand that you have your old part back (if any need to be fitted) as so you can have this checked over to find exactly the fault cause, and obviously to send the part back to the manufacturer/ vendor to make them aware of the issue.

I hope that this fixya is the fixya you require and also that you get this matter resolved in the fastest and most appropriate way. In the meantime, if I can be of anymore assistance, please feel free to contact me as soon as you feel the need to, and i will endeavour to advise you on virtually any technical issue that i have experiance within (mostly home/ business electricals and appliances).

In the mean time, i hope you take care, and hope to ghear your response soon.

yours sincerely

SOURCE: Burner will not turn off

I would first check the infinite control switch (#WB24T10029) the part the knob slips onto. The next thing I'd check is the erc (#WB27T10231) control board. Hope that is helpful!

Left front range top burner temerture control issues

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you are having trouble with the left front burner on your Frigidaire range, model# FEF355. I see that the burner heats up to a glowing red hot temperature, no matter what you set the dial to. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes.

When power is restored, the first thing you will need to do is set the clock. You will do this by pressing the "Clock" button, then within 5 seconds press and hold the up or down arrows until the correct time of day appears.

Once you have set the time, turn on the left front burner, on the lowest setting. If the burner is still glowing red hot, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your range and determine what is causing the burner to glow red hot on all settings. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Hot surface light stays on on GE Profile Cooktop model JP989 and On does not light for left burners. This is only happening on left burners. Left front burner goes to high with any setting on the switch...

You could have a shorted burner, if it is not then you may have gotten a bad part.

always unplug electricity before attempting to repair on any electrical appliance

The right front burner will not get hot. It is only warm never hot. The burner doesn't turn bright red even when tuned up on high.

hello, try changing that front element(burner)if its easily removable to another side that is working normal. If the element is still dull not heating or glowing normal then replace the element, but if it does, then there is something wrong with the front right element switch or the receptacle.

Dryer doesnt blow hot air.

I find that quite often the ignitor is out of alignment or the glass window is covered with lint.
a gas dryer blows air through a burner assembly to heat the air. The burner assembly consists essentially of a gas valve, ignitor and a flame sensor. If any part of the burner assembly malfunctions, the result will be low or no heat and slow drying of the clothes.
There are two common styles of ignitors, glow ignitors and spark ignitors. The ignitor ignites the gas either by heating up and glowing, or by sparking. If the ignitor fails, the dryer will not heat.

The easiest way to check the ignitor is to observe it. Remove the small access panel in front, select a high temperature setting and start the dryer. Watch the burner assembly, shortly after starting the dryer the ignitor should begin to glow or spark. If you see it glow or spark, then the ignitor is working.

Burner dosent get as hot as the others

If you saw a spark from the burner chances are that the burner has shorted out and is in need of replacement.

Burner on range will not turn off

Look at the back of your range there should be schemetic for your power control board. look for defective burner wire going into relay. There should be 5 relays in rows. Realy is the problem. I had the same problem with my front left burner stuck on high.
After replacing everything works okay.
