Haier Compact Refrigerator 3.3 cu ft was purchased in June of 2012 and started using it at college in Aug 2012 and it worked great for a couple of weeks and then quit. Unplugged for few days and plugged back in and it worked for a couple of months and then quit again. It continues doing this-works for couple weeks and then stops cooling.

This is a manual defrost unit. There is a push in button on the thermostat knob which puts the unit in defrost mode. Its probably stock in the on position, which is why the unit doesnt cool when it does this. You might have to take the knob apart, or replace the whole assemble if all checked out fine physically.

change it they often stick in the on poshion when they stop working to save any food inside of the fridge
