Question about Starbucks Saeco Italia Digital Barista Coffee Machine

1 Answer

Dispenser out of alignment

I removed the dispensing unit on my Saeco Italia to clean it. After replacing it, it is now "out of alignment". Something is open on the left side of it, blocking the grounds tray and I cannot reset it to it's correct position. This happened once before years ago. Someone in tech supprt had me move something to realign the little arrows in the front of the machine. As I recall, it took about five seconds to fix the problem. I cannot remember what they had me do but it is now Saturday and tech suppoert is closed until Monday. Can anyone help me with this?

HiTo return the brew group to the centered position, you first need to drop the funnel. To do this look on the opposite side of the brew group from the handle. At the top you will see an object that looks like a sharks fin. Push the "Press"button and the shark fin moves up and down. If you follow this piece down you will see 2 horizontal bars on the brew group body. Push your finger between these 2 bars and the funnel will drop. Now you can push the puck slide on the left side down and to the center. If you look down through the funnel you should see a piston. This should be centered in the funnel. If not just push the slide to the right until it does. Push the press button and you are now ready to reinsert the brew group in to the machine. First you must close the door and turn on the machine without having the brew group in. You will hear the motor turn on and when it stops completely, open the door and insert the brew group.

Saeco itallia malfunctions

Check this document out to make sure the gear is in the right location. The machine in the document is a different type however the way the gear lines up is the same.

Coffee Dispenser won't snap back into unit

If you're talking about the double dispenser on the left side of the unit, then you need to push the button on the top of it while you're putting it back. I put it back with the screw holes toward the machine so the smooth side is toward the viewable front.

Dispenses very little coffee / steam

Just program the button by holding it down until the coffee is dispensed and then let go when it is at the length you want it to be.
