Question about Mitsubishi WS-55807 TV

1 Answer

TV Changes Channels by itself

I have an old Mitsubishi has a good picture and I use it as a secondary TV. But recently it has started changing channels by itself. I've eliminated the remote as the cause. So what could it be??? Sometimes I can't even get it back to the channel I was watching...I turn the TV off, wait a bit, then turn it back on...sometimes this works. Not sure what the model is. Any help would appreciated. Thanks.. Minnowpaw

Re: TV Changes Channels by itself

The keyboard switches are going bad part# 432P109010 (there are ten of them). To verify this, disconnect the connecting wire to the keyboard pc board and see if you still have the problem- the remote will still function normal- the green power led will not light up when you power on the TV with it disconnected so listen for the click and wait for the TV to power up when you use the remote.

Tv changes channels when turned on.

Be sure your remote hasn't got a button stuck down which is changing channels. If not, take the batteries out of the remote. If this stops the channel changing there is probably some conductve material stuck across the circuit board
inside the remote. If this is the case you have to check inside the remote by openning it up.

Powers on by itself

TV worked FINE for the past 2 yrs---this morning we woke up and the screen is totally BLACK! No sound..nothing. REmote doesn't do anything to the TV. Red light says ON unless we unplug it. Remote won't turn off the TV.
Any advise? Picture tube??
Worked great w/out any problems until we woke up today!

Losing picture on tv!

The ITC008 chassis is commonly riddled with poor solder connections. Good soldering station, patience and some good light and magnification and you might be able to fix it... Or you could spend a few dollars and run it into the shop and have a tech do it! It's not an expensive repair.

TV turns on and changes channels on its own

Keeps changing channel
Check voltage on D12 if below 4.8V then change
Changes channel or volume adjusts by itself
Check S900/1/2 on pcb H1, alternatively this could be due to failure of IC005 (CD4052BCM-FL63) on pcb A
