Question about HP PhotoSmart 7760 InkJet Printer
I have replaced my color Ink cartridge twice using a genuine HP 57 color cartridge and I keep getting an error message which states "Color Cartridge has failed". I tried speaking with HP tech support but they were no help at all. Any suggestions? I've reset the printer according to the instructions on the HP website.
You know, I'm not going to read the other solution. I know 100% FOR SURE, when a cartridge fails, it is dead and there is nothing you can do about it, but there is a good side. HP ink cartridges have a year warranty. Call them and tell them it failed, they'll send you a new one!

TO TEST PROPER FUNCTIONALITY OF THE CARTRIDGES -- Turn on the printer and open the front access door. If the print cartridges are present, remove them from the cradle. NOTE: The printer is able to print with one print cartridge installed. HP C6657A Tri-color print cartridge, # HP 57 Left slot Verify that the packing tape has been removed from the cartridges. If not, please remove it. Place each cartridge into the cartridge carriage inside the printer. Secure each cartridge by pushing the print cartridge latch over the cartridge and downward until it hooks in the carriage. Once the cartridges are properly installed, the HP Photosmart 7760 printer will prompt for align cartridges test. By pressing the Print button the unit should print the align cartridges report. If the Front panel display of the HP Photosmart printer keeps on calling for the align cartridges report once the test was already printed, one of the cartridges might be dry, empty or defective. If the alignment failed and there are colors missing or changed tones, replace the cartridges with new ones. If the test is well printed but the print quality is still unsatisfactory, follow the next steps to try to solve the issue. Open the front access door and take out the print cartridges. Clean the nozzles and the copper contacts with a damp cotton swab. Clean the corresponding contacts inside the cartridge carriage. Place each cartridge into the cartridge carriage. The HP Photosmart 7760 printer will ask for the align cartridges report. If the print quality remains unsatisfactory after replacing the print cartridges, the product may require service.
