I have a wireless connection from main pc to laptop but i cannot get it to connect wireless to laptop even though i could yesterday,it says in range one minute and then when i click connect it says out of range.whats happened?

If you have a laptop check all sides to see if there is a switch to turn it on, if not look at the keyboard and see if there is a wireless icon on any of the keys .If found Press the FN key and the wireless key to turn on.

The wireless cards in the computers need to be configured with the router's wireless settings so the computers can connect to the wireless router.
Resetting the wireless router back to the factory defaults will not let the computers connect to the wireless router without configuring the network card in the computers with the router's wireless settings.
I suggest you configure your wireless router with encryption settings to prevent unauthorized persons accessing your wireless network and Internet connection and your computers.

This is worked for me on Vista:
1. Goto Network and Sharing Center.
2. Click on your Wireless Connection "View Status".
3. Click on Propertes.
4. Uncheck the option that says "Internet Protocol Version 6"

When I did this, my wireless began working again.

Could try checking the tcpip settings on the main network settings page make sure they are on "automatically" detect DNS settings.

Try to restore your pc to the last time you were able to connect (start/accessories/system tools/system restore)

Double check your physical connection. It should be this way

Modem > connected to Internet Port of the router
PC > connected to port 1
Laptop > can be wireless

Now you must power cycle your router and modem. Turn off router first then modem. Wait for 30 seconds. Power on modem first, then the router. You must configure the wireless settings on your laptop it doesn't connect automatically.

try locating the wireless switch of your new Acer. It might be accidentally turned off thats why no available wireless network found in range

check you wireless router settings if the wireless is enable on the router then , if this is done disable the firewall on your wireless laptop and if you cannot still connect to the wireless uninstalled and reinstalled your wireless driver software.

Make sure the wireless adapter is enabled on the elonex laptop and its properly installed.
Connect wirelessly on the elonex one laptop using the same SSID and security key that you used on your main laptop.

you might be blocked your SSID broadcast in your wireless router make it broadcat enabled then it will find your connection.

Your lap is ok and settings are well, b.coz it gets other signales. So just check your wireless AP settings.
