Cuurrently attempting to charge sweex MP439 using USB provided. When attached to computer can download music, play, edit and change settings. Once disconnected the MP3 cannot be switched on. Also I ensured the switch at the top of the MPe was switched to the "on" position. Additionally, when connected the MP3 displays a battery icon but no animation to indicate that it is charging. Can you help?

Thanks for the solution but it is far too generic. I need a solution derived fom an expert with experience/knowledge of this make of MP3. Additionally the LCD works perfectly while attached to the computer via the USB.

  • kemet01 Apr 18, 2009

Thanks. However, once disconnected the MP3 switches off and cannot be turned on in order to switch it off again and connect it to the computer via the USB.

I connected the MP3 to the computer, it powered up, displayed the battery icon (however, no animation to indicate charging) and I held the on/off button down for 3 seconds but there was no effect. If I disconnect it, it will shut down and will be unable to be turned on.

    Any ideas?

If the device powers off right after removing it from the computer and when connected the battery icon shows no animation the battery needs to be replaced. You should be able to get it replaced pretty cheap at any local electronics shop. Other than that there really is nothing you can do. If it is a new player return it for an exchange under the warranty.

Dear,

try it by switching off and then connect it to pc through usb cable

Switching off

Switching off the Sweex Black Pearl 1,5" MP3 is done by pressing the button for 3 seconds. You can use the main switch on the back of the device to
prevent the player from being switched off accidentally.

Why will my sweex clipz mp3 player not turn on?

Perhaps you thought you were hanging the battery, but the battery already died. So to won't give any power. Try to switch it on while charging and then unplug it. When it switches on, you know the switch is still working. When it dies as soon as you unplug it, your battery must be replaced. (or buy a new MP3 player)

Everytime i try to download music to my memory

try using a different USB port to put the Dynes reader into then insert the memory card in it once the dynes reader is detected by the machine, if still not being detected check the services window

in XP click start open the run window type services.msc in the list look foe Human Interface Device Access double click and change it to Automatic, then look for Plug and Play do the same set it to automatic, then look for Universal Plug and Play Device Host set it to automatic as well make sure that after you set each that you click apply then ok to make changes take effect, after you've done the automatic settings remove the dyne card reader restart the computer aftrer restarting then insert your mini memory card into the dyne reader then insert the dyne reader into a USB port on your computer, Hopefully this should work ^_^

How do you download music from our computer to the

It is hard to provide any useful suggestions without knowing the type of cell phone your son is using.

Normally he would put the memory card in the cell phone microSD slot (provided it can support 2gb card), plug the USB cable from computer to cell phone (if it supports this). Normally the phone will have also got some software apps CD which should be loaded to computer. This will provide the necessary functions to load music files to the phone.

Alternative to USB is bluetooth connection which both the computer and the cell phone will have to support. He can transfer music files that way.

I am not sure if he can copy the files directly from the computer to the memory card and play it on the cell phone as data formats are not standard. Also iTunes files need to converted to mp3 format. If these are protected iTunes files then it becomes a bit harder - best to burn a CD and then rip into mp3 format.

Once again these suggestions are useless if cell phone cannot play music (mp3 or WMA etc) files, does not have microSD slot, does not have USB or bluetooth support.

I've recently purchased a 8GB Sweex mp439 player. It's cheap and it works well until the battery runs out. I plug it into the usb port and it won't charge! how can i solve this problem?

I had the same problem and had to take the device back. I got a replacement but that hasn't worked at all, it just says "Loading" and never goes any further. I am going to get my money back.

download the latest software from the manufacturer's website, and install the software *BEFORE* plugging the usb device into the computer. the installer will tell you when to plug the usb device in. once it tells you, windows will automatically detect the device and install the proper software drivers if you are patient!

Unable to sync new music to player

I had a similar problem with my daughter's mp3 player, here is how I was able to fix it:

1. download the firmware software from here
2. unzip & install the software from step 1.
3. remove the battery from your mp3 player
4. start the software
5. hold down the play/pause button while attaching the mp3 player (via usb cable) to your computer
6. once the software's button labeled "start" is activated you can set down the mp3 player (you don't need to hold the play/pause button anymore).
7. check the box to format your data area (this will remove the mp3s, but is needed to get this to work properly again)
8. Click start and follow the on screen instructions

This worked for me... also, make sure your directory names + filenames are not overly long as this seems to be part of what is causing this problem.
