Question about Dell 1815dn All-In-One Laser Printer
- Dell 1815 mfp connected to small business network
- Works perfectly on all computers in office, including 1 Dell with Vista Business and all others running xp pro
- Problem on 1 computer network scan will work for a few minutes then quit- I can ping the printer and print to it but cannot re-connect to it or see it using the dell network scan software
- details of computer where dell software does not work:
- lenovo w500
- 2.8 intel chip
- 4gb ram
- norton 2009 antivirus- dell network scanner program listed as allow
- windows firewall off
- windows vista 32 bit business
- netgear business router and switch
- no other problems
Summary- I can print to printer and scan for a few minutes upon initial startup of computer, but then the scanner disappears and cannot be found.
I have tried to get help from dell but they pawn it off saying my machine is out of warranty, even though in 12-2007 I purchased a 3 year warranty and have the receipt, the warranty department has not updated status yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Pl. check your internal system ip address, take the configuration sheet of the printer to know its address and use it and should not match with other.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Dell 922 Printer
You will have to use the New Dell 922 VISTA drivers and not the XP drivers in order for it to work with your Vista Loaded PC. The new drivers for the 922 under Vista are available for download at Dells website. Check out this link http://support.euro.dell.com/support/topics/topic.aspx/emea/shared/support/dsn/en/document?c=ed&docid=314972&l=en&s=bsd Hope this helps.

SOURCE: dell 1600n will not connect
One of the most common problems when networking is adding the correct subnet address. To check your computers.
Click on start
click on run
type in the box "cmd" (no quotes)
click in the black dos box and type
This will tell you the ip address and subnet of your computer.
The ip address need to be different for the computer and the printer but the subnet address needs to be the same

Go to Control Panel, then Programs and Features. Uninstall the Dell printer software.
Then, go to Control Panel, then Device Manager. Locate the printer, right click on it, and select uninstall.
Disconnect the printer from your PC.
Go to the Support section of Dell's web site, download the latest driver for your printer.
Restart your PC.
Install the software. Connect your printer when instructed to, or after the software install has completed.
Let me know if you still have issues :)
