Question about RCA Lyra RD2762 MP3 Player
I own the RCA Lyra RD2726A (4Gig) and I have had similar problems with the battery, only it doesn't last longer than 1/2 hour sometimes. The trouble with mine seems to be that the backlight is what is draining the battery - when I can steer clear of causing the backlight to come on, I get more play time out of it.
I also just noticed today, after having the player connected for some time to my computer, that it seems to be holding the charge better than when I charge it with the AC adaptor. I wonder then if it isn't my AC adaptor that is the culprit. I think that for now I am going to continue to charge it via USB cable, and see how that goes.
I just thought I'd share those thoughts. I hope they are maybe just a little bit helpful!

How long have you had it? Read below, pasted from batteryuniversity.com, basically if it's 1.5yrs old more the battry needs replacing. Some capacity deterioration is noticeable after one year, whether the battery is in use or not. The battery frequently fails after two or three years. It should be noted that other chemistries also have age-related degenerative effects. This is especially true for nickel-metal-hydride if exposed to high ambient temperatures. At the same time, lithium-ion packs are known to have served for five years in some applications. Manufacturers are constantly improving lithium-ion. New and enhanced chemical combinations are introduced every six months or so. With such rapid progress, it is difficult to assess how well the revised battery will age. It's an internal battery and the player needs to be taken apart to replace. Hope this helps L8R
