A brand new notebook should not have any existing user profiles. Take it back to the shop and get an unused one or at least get them to reinstall the laptop back to the default/unused setup.

Just bought a Eee PC 1000HA from a pawn shop, and when I charged it and turned it on, it goes to a bios screen that says at the bottom that the hard disk is locked. It ask's for user password or press ESC...

When buying things from a pawn shop, it is wise to check it out to see if it functions properly before you purchase it.
Hard disk passwords cannot be broken/hacked, and putting a new hard disk in the laptop may not work, this depends upon the BIOS password setup.
I suggest you try and return it and get a refund.

How do i reset the bios password

How to recover your forgotten laptop BIOS password? There are 3 methods, each method has its strength and weakness but I am going to talk about the 2 easy methods that works across the board for everyone. Here they are:
Method 1 – Remove BatteryFor desktop user, open up your computer casing and look for the battery. Remove the battery for approximately 5 minutes (maybe longer, depending on the motherboard) and slot it back. By removing the battery and deprive the motherboard’s flash memory of power supply, you are essentially resetting the settings back to default when the existing data in BIOS are cleared.

laptop_battery_desktop_bios_remove_reset.jpgThis method works well for desktop, however this is not practical for laptop user unless the warranty expired long time ago. This method might or not not work, it depends on the type of motherboard.
Method 2 – Reset CMOS With SoftwarePC CMOS Cleaner is the best CMOS password reset software, it works setting the BIOS to the default state or revealing the password.
reset_bios_cmos_password_motherboard_remove.jpgreset_bios_cmos_password_motherboard_remove2.jpgPC CMOS Cleaner is an easy-to-use tool to recover, delete, decode and display the superior passwords stored in BIOS whatever the brand is. Most types of BIOS are supported. It’s an bootable CD that runs on x86 and x86_64 computers. No need to pay expensive fees to experts. It’s a useful tool for users to get their lost BIOS password back, or clean passwords from an old computer bought from others.
  • Support all x86, x86_64 Personal Computers.
  • Support most BIOS, such as: AWARD, AMI, Compaq, Phoenix, Samsung, IBM, Compaq, DTK, Thinkpad, Sony, Toshiba and so on.
  • Display the superior passwords of the BIOS .
  • Remove BIOS password(will set the BIOS to default status, need reset date).
  • Set the BIOS to default state

Laptop dvd player stuck on region 1 need 4 for

Try changing the region by right clicking your DVD drive in explorer and select properties, go to hardware tab, select your DVD brand and type, click properties, go to DVD region, and change the region.. Just remember, any DVD only allowed to change the region for about 4 times, after that, you can't change the region anymore..

Connecting asus M51V to Panasonic TH-42PX8A plasma via HDMI

Hi

Make sure your TV does indeed support the resolutions you are trying to use. Some low quality HDMI cables can also be troublesome in higher resolution so try one you are sure to work.

Regarding to the desktop only being extended when using the RGB cables, try bringing up the desktop properties window, select the TV as the primary monitor and select "Use this monitor as Primary monitor". You might have to drag the windows Taskbar over to the other monitor, just rightclick the taskbar, uncheck "Lock the Taskbar" and drag it over to the other monitor.

Hope you find this solution helpful, and please rate it if you do so..

best regards,

Karl

Good morning,i forgot the password on my asus 4g,help!

Hi, Just Press Alt, Ctrl and Delete at the same Time and Type 'Administrator' into your Account or user name and the password by default is nothing so don't type anything here and press enter and this sould give you access to your computer. Go Into control panel>User Accounts, and create a new account because you need your old password to change it. If this doesn't work Type Guest as the user name and the password will either be guest or it doesn't have a password. from here you cannot change or modify accounts, but at least you can use your computer until you get it fixed. and if this doesn't work take it into a computer technitian to look at it.

Hope This Helps

Dear Jo,

I hope your operating Sytem is Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium.

Please re-install the Windows Vista Operating System and you choose upgrade option ( PLEASE DON'T CHOOSE NEW INSTALLATION). during the setup you can create new password for 'Administrator' user and you will not possibly loose your data.

NB: Please don't choose "NEW INSTALLATION" because if you select this option and continue setup all your data existing in hard disk may loose.

All the best from FixYa
