Question about Agfa SnapScan 310 EPP Flatbed Scanner

How should I connect the scanner to my laptop?

My scanner it is not new so I do not have the using manual.I have plugged the scanner and I added one cable that assures the connection between them but on my computer I can see the difference.where should I start from?thank you very much and I will wait for your answer

First if you have a software CD with the drivers on it run it before plugging in the usb/ or included cable with it. Next if you do not have a CD go to the manufacturer's website and download the drivers from the support section using the model of your printer/scanner .Save it on your desktop or your documents so it will be easy for you to find then locate it and run it but don't plug it yet till you get prompted by the system.....Good luck hope it will help.

Depends on how old your old scanner is. If it attaches with a USB connection, just plug it in and see what happens.

If it's firewire or SCSI, making it work will be more expensive than a new scanner.

Open PREVIEW (in applications) and from the "FILE" menu select "IMPORT FROM SCANNER" see if your scanner appears in the list. If not, try to add the new scanner in your SYSTEM PREFERENCES PRINTERS & SCANNERS by clicking the PLUS below the printer and scanners list. It should see your scanner as long as it is plugged in and powered up. Use the drivers available such as "Generic Scanner". Once added, go to the PREVIEW application once again and try to import from scanner. PREVIEW has it's own scanning tools and as long as it can see your scanner it should be able to run it even without your software. If all else fails go online and see if you can download the scanner software from the manufacturer's website.

There could be a problem with the battery. A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.

For me, it looks like the Canon LiDE 100 USB powered flat scanner was drawing extra power than your laptop's power adapter could handle properly. As time passes, this might have caused some damage to either the system, the A/C adapter or both. Rightnow, your laptop's adapter's output might be no longer capable of supplying enough power to charge the battery & operate the laptop simultaneously. Please try a replacement adapter & check if it resolves your problem.

Have a xerox scanner 2400 Ineed a driver for vista to connect the scanner to my new laptop. do not connect the laptop to the internet so want to save the driver onto a disc

download and burn to disc. It woun't auto open so you will have to oen disc manually and extract the files to your laptop.

Scan function won't work with Mac OS10.5.5 & Airport


I plugged the printer cable directly to my laptop instead of trying to scan using the airport wireless router. Plugging it in did the trick.

Has your scanner been working before?
If so, has anything changed since then such as new printers or other devices added to the computer, or upgraded to a new OS?
Which OS are you using?

When exactly does the error occur?
Does ScanGear open?
Are you able to preview?


Try connecting the USB cable to another port on the computer (directly to the computer...not through a HUB or any other device). Bypassing a hub, which would have to be a powered HUB, or other devices would rule out any issues with those devices.

Ultimately trying the scanner on another computer would rule out issues with the scanner as well.

Go to Microtek's web site and re-download the drivers for your particular scanner for your version of Vista.
