The power went off and when the power came back on my television did not. It was not storming or anything. I have a RCA Bigscreen TV. MODEL# P60152CK

Almost same. No storm, but did loose electricity for about a hour. When electric came back on, my tv has the color picture and audio, but with a snowy, green, flickering overlay. It's not the BP96-00822G assy and the BP94-02084A assy is a little pricey. Is there a particular component we should give extra attention to?

what caused the inital problem was a surge of energy caused by the storm. the exact problem, i don't know but it may just be that some of the power cord(including the power cord wires on the of the TV) wires have blown

Replace the deflection board. Sounds like the vertical deflection was knocked out thats why you still have sound. You can get replacement deflection boards from www.tvrepairworld.com

If this is similar to the d52w20 then I almost garantee you need to replace a capacitor. You can check to make sure that's what you need by unplugging the tv, taking off the back cover and feeling the top of 3 capacitors. On my d52w20, CP150 (rated at 2200uf 16V) was blown and the top was bulged out. You should also check CP120 and CP114 to see if either are blown. I don't have a clear picture of where it's located, but I have a picture of what you should see after you take off the back cover.

In the middle of the picture you see an aluminum heatsink in the shape of a 'C' with the opening facing away from you. That is where CP150 is located. CP120 and CP114 should be located nearby, but if you can feel a bulge on any of the tops of those 3 capacitors replacing them should fix your problem. Replace the existing capacitors with a higher voltage rating of either 25v or 35v.

"4 capacitors on the power/deflection board. CP110 220uf 200v. CP120 220uf 35 Volts. CP114 220uf 35 volts. CP150 2200 16 volt. also check entire delfection board for cold solder especially around flyback. bad connections here can cause problems like some of the fp fuses blowing and cutting off convergence supply"

My RCA Bigscreen HDTV will not turn on.

Thats either the flyback or the HV splitter. If the sound is coming from the rear left side its the flyback. If its coming from the front of the set its the HV splitter. They are both easy to replace. I will post a link where you can get replacements with instructions if you would like.

yes, take the back off, and follow the power cord. You will see a fuse in the board. You have the same problem as I have. I replaced my fuse, and plugged it back in, It made a sizzling sound and blew the fuse again.Maybe you will have better luck, with your set good luck rob
