yep, same problem here. I moved the printer head, put a piece of paper under it and tried moving it back and forth again.
    no luck.

We just spent ages with the same problem, the answer is actually on the link to the brother help pages - move the printer head. They just assume you know how. The printer head is the bit that slides back and forth when you put in a new ink cartridge. It sits over the left hand side when you lift the top cover. When we slid this to the right the offending piece of paper was hidden behind it.

(remember to vote this solution plz)

Hi there,

I use a Canon MP210 myself, its a Pixma like yours. Anyways, Error 002 or 02 means theres a paper jam. Sro if you can fix that jam it will go away. If your looking at the printer and you cant see any jams still, the printer still thinks it is jammed, so heres what I would do.

  • Turn off the printer.

  • 3

Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.

  • 4

Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.

  • 5

If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.

  • 6

If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.

  • 7

If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.

  • 8

Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.

  • 9

If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.

  • Still? Take a cereal box of cardboard (cut the back/front , push that through the paper trayand get your hand on the other side and work it like your flossing your teeth)

    Yes that works.

    Thanks

Carriage Jam problem. Have gone through complete troubleshooting routine, but the message just won't go away. Says ""Carriage Jam". No debris to left or right of carriage. In fact, the jam was in the paper...

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

No it's not. Make sure to open EVERY door on the printer and check for any additional paper. Also, power the printer off and back on a few times and see if it goes away.

How to erase a error message on Cannon mp 160 which says " paper jams" & it does not exit. and printer does not work.

It should have a display showing you where the paper is jammed. Open that lid even though the paper is not really jammed and the error message should go away.

If it fails, turn off and back on the multifunctional.
