Cannot use multi player on mario & sonic at the olympic games ds

Bought mario & sonic at the olympic games for sons nintendo ds lite (2nd hand) We can't get it to dowload with daughters ds lite. Get error message "Communication error". Not had DSs very long so I could be doing s'thing wrong. Any advise would be appreciated. Cheers

First of all make sure your ds lite is not obstructed by any obsticals example your leg or arm or anything else and maximum 5 feet away from the other ds lite for a good connection. The other ds must be on download ds play after you send the request from the ds with the game in it.
