Speakers have a unique RF frequency that needs to pair with the receiver (kind of like a blue tooth headset with a cell phone). At times, the signal may reset, so, you may have to go through the initial pairing sequence. Try this:
1. Unplug rear speakers
2. Make sure the sound signal connector is plugged in to the back of the system properly.
3. Press and hold the ID button for 3 seconds until the blue LED light flickers.
4. Connect the power chord to the rear speakers.

I'm having this same problem; it worked all ok in the beginning then one day it didn't and no matter what I try it doesn't seem to connect. Similarly im getting the W1 flashing and even when I take the receiver and move it closer (even within a few feet) it still wont pick it up. I've removed the wireless home phone and baby monitor from within the room without any result. I cannot think of anything else that could be interfering. Any advice or resolution would be much appreciated.

Contact LF etc to see if what you want is currently sold or not and I would also search with Google or on Ebay for the item.

After you reset, all the settings would go back to factory defaults.
Maybe the default settings for the sound in setup are for two speakers only. Maybe you have to go into setup and tell it you've got 5.1 surround (or whatever you have)

Testimonial: "Have tried that thanks. Changed to all the settings. During the repairing the sender will flash blue for like 2 mins, but the speakers turn on blue briefly then turn off"
