Question about Memorex MMP8565 MP3 Player
The problem all started when I tried to get some songs off Wal-Mart.com I got the songs downloaded and they are on the computer and I put them on to my brothers mp3 player and they work fine but when I put them onto mine they won't play. After reading loads of stuff I am thinking that the problem is that they are protected with that DRM thing so I read the manual and it says that it should be able to play it anyway and that if it won't I should update the firmware. So I was going to do that. So I downloaded the update thing off the site and got that on the computer and unzipped the folder but I don't understand what I am supposed to do next from what the book says. = ( and I am really afraid that I am going to ruin it if I do it wrong. It says in the book that I should unzip the file and then double click setup.exe in the desktop folder to install the software to my computer I don't see setup.exe or desktop written anywhere!!?!?
Too use firmware update you need to set the player in its secondary mode hold the play button for 3-10 seconds while plug into the computer the open the software tool it should the be able to read the player. after that open the fireware by right clicking on the start menu on the left screen of computer go to downloads file open it with the tool it will bring up a screen that tells you if you want to update click and it will start the download.

They're talking about the folder saved on your desktop that you downloaded. It should be something with the name of the player in it. You double click on that folder, and it has setup.exe inside it, and you double click on that. What site did you get the firmware update from?
