Your Vertical Amp is probably Blown (bad) , but before you change that check all capacitors around the vertical amp IC and / or resolder resistors and diodes around vertical amplifier.
And NO it is NOT the Picture Tube
Good Luck

Yeah its commonly the vertical IC chip loose connection, best is to reflux it, or it is alrready bad.

Its only getting the old solder lead out and putting new lead. Coz sometimes reheating the old solder lead doesn't always guarantee good contact. Getting the old lead in the pin and using new lead gives better electrical contact.

If you have no background in electronic servicing/ or a little knowledge with it, we don't recommend it to be done by yourself.

It just a minor repair if vertical IC is loose connection. But opening the tv and getting into it needs an amount of practice and experience in handling to do it right, you could also do much harm than help.

    Just have it serviced.

Tv not working

this symptom, sometimes called the tube light effect, it is characterised by a bright thin horizontal line across the middle of the screen. this symptom is caused by a breakdown in the vertical deflection circuit. hence maybe the trouble maybe in the vertical oscillator, amplifier or output circuits. but if all i have said is not clear to you, better bring it to a qualified tv technician. good luck!
