Yes there is no way to speed the thing up i think, but if you have WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER then you can plug your zen in, let it load and when you enter WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER click on the sync button and then you will see the tabs on the left side of the screen. EX.( playlists ) click you name or whatever you listed the device under and pull down the tab. you will see a songs option click it and the songs that are on your zen will come up. click on whatever song you want and hit delete on you keyboard.

LOL i hope that helped.....

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Guess you can connect your player to computer through USB, visualize files as Removable Disk and delete files you don't need.
Maybe you need a driver to connecto to computer

Creative Zen V Plus Bookmarks

A little known feature on this player is the ability to use bookmarks, up to 10 of them. Many of you listen to podcasts or audio books which may be fairly lengthy and if you have to stop in the middle of what ever you're listening to, normally when you go back to your player you would have to start all over again.<br /><br />A note about <span style="font-style: italic;">"resuming playback":</span> If you shutdown during playback of a podcast or audio book (not pausing or stopping playback first) your Zen will automatically resume playback when you start it back up.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Zen V Plus Bookmarking</span><br /><br />You can insert bookmarks during playback. Can't delete pictures or music

O.k. I have the same exact Zen V-Plus as you, so I know how to delete them. But it doesn't tell you in the instructions.

Now go to photos. Use the joystick to choose which picture you want to delete, then press down on the backspace button. You'll have a list of options; to start a "slideshow", "delete picture", or "set as wallpaper". Scroll down to "delete picture", click it, It will ask you if you are sure about deleting it, press yes, and wammo! Your picture will be deleted.

This sounds like it may be realted to the "Time Scaling" feature, which is part of the "EAX" settings. Disable EAX and/or the Time Scaling feature and see if this helps.
