Replace the heater, check the compressor for proper volts. If you coil is icing up then it is a problem with either the heater (most likely) or the defrost but unit would power down and not let the compressor come on if this was the cause

Everything seems fine,but evaporator freezes up after about an hour.any idea?


Sounds like an air flow problem.......... Dirty Filter, not all of the supply vents open, return air blocked, Evaporator coils dirty, Blower motor quiting after it runs for awhile Check run capacitor.
Check to see if you are getting an even frost pattern.... if you are not , may be low of freon Thermostat set to low not letting the unit cycle off...... Are you running the AC with low ambient conditons outside..... Which will lower the head pressure which will lower the suction pressure and get the evaporator coil down under 32 degrees which will cause it to freeze up So take your pick it can be any number of problems....... Hope this helps.......

Freezer coil keep iceing up right side tempt gets warm


The problem is most likely either the defrost timer, and/or the defrost heater element(s) are faulty. The problem is that the defrost heater elements are not functioning properly and the evaporator core is actually freezing up and blocking the air flow through the evaporator core and also freezing up the thermal sensor, and when that happens there is no longer enough cold air being circulated through the refrigerator (that is actually how the unit operates and air must be able to flow through the evaporator core and then be circulated throughout the refrigerator to properly function) and as a result the refrigerator stops functioning and food can even thaw out in the freezer although the freezer seems to be iced up. (Usually at the rear wall where the evaporator core is located)

(Air flow through the evaporator core and cold air circulation and re-circulation through the refrigerator is performed by the air circulation fan and it also must be functioning)

Be sure to only use a blow dryer (with a towel on the bottom of the freezer) to thaw out the evaporator core and do not use any hard or sharp objects or the evaporator core can be damaged. The defrost timer can be located inside of the refrigerator itself, (see lower image) or it can be mounted outside usually either behind the air intake cowl or kick panel at the front base of the refrigerator, or most likely located behind the service panel on the rear of the refrigerator, and usually if the defrost timer is turning then it is most likely working, however the defrost timer can move very slowly and you can place a mark on the timer and the housing to check after about fifteen minutes to see if the position on the defrost timer has changed. FREEZER DOES NOT KEEP FOOD FROZEN, ICE MAKER MAKES LITTLE ICE, REFRIGERATOR NOT AS COLD AS IT USE TO BE

Refrigerator portion has quit working but freezer still works.

The defrost heater coils can easily be checked by dis-connecting them and using an ohm meter, and a high or an infinite reading would indicate a faulty heater coil, however most of the time they are easily identified as being bad just by looking at them.

Wha is a warmer


A warmer can mean two things when considering a refrigerator. The first will be a evaporator core warmer or heater. This device is essentially an element that keeps ice from forming on the core. It is controlled by a defrost timer and a thermostat. Once the timer reaches a set interval, it will initiate the warmer/heater to defrost the evaporator core. This mechanism will keep the core free of ice, which in return, keeps the unit operating as designed. The second type of "warmer" is a water line warmer or heater. This is a thin copper or steel line that is wrapped around the inlet lines inside your unit. This type of warmer/heater keeps the inlet lines from freezing over inside the unit. If the line freezes, they cant transfer water to the dispenser and ice maker. This style of warmer prevent s these important lines from freezing over.

Additionally; some side by side units have divider warmers to keep the condensation down that can form in the summer months. This type of warmer is mounted inside the frame, near the divider, and is an automatic functioning device.
