Spilled wine in keyboard

I just spilled wine on my keyboard, I've turned it upside to dry. It has been an hour. Will it work and can I use it?

    can you take it apart and clean it inside ? if you don't you may end up with a key or more that will continue to make contact even if the key is not stuck down.

    also wine may still be wet and can make cross connections , confusing your computer , making it go haywire

It really depends, on the logitech stuff they have the accidental spill holes in the bottom so liquid doesn't pool but there is a possibility that it could have saturated the board and ruinied the internals, just try to dry it out as best you can and hope for the best

No matter how careful you may be, knocking a cup of coffee or spilling a glass of soda over your keyboard may happen. This does not, however, mean the end of your keyboard. If you act quickly, you may be able to fix your wet keyboard to avoid any corrosion of its electronic components or any short circuit which might render it unusable. By following a few recommendations, you should be able to fix your wet computer keyboard.

Unplug the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any corrosion or short circuit. If you spilled water over your laptop's keyboard, turn your computer off by clicking on "Shut Down" on "Turn Off" in the start menu, unplug the power supply and remove the battery. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake it to remove most of the water from it. Take a hair dryer and set it to its lowest temperature setting. Use it to dry any water which might remain under your keyboard's keys. Wait at least 12 hours before plugging your keyboard into your computer again. If your computer is a laptop, wait 12 hours before turning it on again. For Other Liquids Disconnect the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any short circuit or corrosion. Turn your computer off by selecting "Shut Down" or "Turn Off" in the start menu, remove the battery and disconnect the power supply. Place paper towels on a table, turn the keyboard upside down and shake it over them to allow most of the liquid to fall down. Take a few clean paper towels and wipe the liquid off your keyboard's keys. To clean between the keys, you can also use cotton swabs with just a little bit of water. If the liquid which you spilled over your keyboard contained a high amount of sugar, such as soda or sugared coffee, you might have to remove some of your keyboard's keys to clean the surface under the keys with paper towels or swabs. You can do so by lifting them gently with a screwdriver or by using a key remover, which you can find in some IT stores. Wait at least 12 hours before using your keyboard again. If your computer is a laptop, wait the same length of time before turning it on again. How to Clean Your Keyboard Fix Computer Keyboard Problems

you should let it dry for awhile. Sometimes you are okay after a liquid spill as long as you let it dry, but other times it can fry your motherboard. I killed one of mine that way too.

Spilled milk on Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.1, turned it upside down to drain it out. Now it will not connect even after hitting reset on sensor and connect channel on keyboard. The Keyboard...

If all you did was drain it there's a bood chance that there is still residue that could be causing a short somewhere on the board. My personal suggestion is to remove the batteries, and then wash thoroughly underrunning water; then leave to dry out for at least a day preferably somewhere warm and dry. Once it's completely dry again replace the batteries and try again, if this doesn't work then there is likely permanent damage to your keyboard and you might want to get it checked out or get a replacement.

I recently dropped water on my acer aspire and now alot of the keys are not working can you tell me if i can buy a keyboard that has the fn key on it so i can brighten my screen as that feature no longer...

HURRY IMMIDIATLY DISCONNECT THE DEVICE FROM THE COMPUTER. you may short your motherboard if you dont act quickly.
What i would do is turn it upside down. Shake the liquid out while upside down. you must let it dry for quite some time i recommend 72 hours. it sounds harsh but if you wanna use it again that the best way to go.

Another thing to do is apply heat from FAR away to evaporate the heat.
let set for 24+ hours.

after that most of the time the keys might be sticky depending what you spilled in it. take apart keyboard with care and clean iwht alchol.
