When I do the auto search for channels, it only does up to channel 125, however I have over 200 channels and I cant record on a channel higher than 125. What am I doing wrong. It will not let me put in the channel number any higher that 125. I followed the book step by step am I missing something? Help
You can't the amount of channels a dvd, vcr,or tv can select is a function of the tuner, if teh tuner will only accept 125 channels Back in the late 80''s and early 90's when basic cable was expanding and the cabel ready vcr's were just coming out with the auto search tuners they were only 125 channels total if you wanted to pick up the extra channels that cable was putting up in the higher numbers ie (above channel cable channel 45 I belive it was) you had to buy a VCR or TV that had a 181 channel cable ready tuner built in it. Now with satlite and digital cable if you want to record anything higher than what your VCR, or DVD will recive you will have to use the line inputs and record that way from your cable box or through a stereo amp that will let you take the audio off and the video off and put them through teh line inputs of your burner.

Re: ilo dvd player wont search high channels
At a guess the device will only find channels it can detect.
So what is your connection antenna or cable
If antenna then all TV is line of sight and directional
If cable - only the channel's the cable co supply will come down the wire.

I Believe You Can Go To Channel 2 And Right Below Those Channels Are The 3 Video Channels Turn On Your Dvd Player And Go Through Them. If That Doesn't Work Try Looking At The Buttons On Your Tv For A Tv Video. Make Sure You Dont Have A Tv Video Button On Your Remote If You Do Then Just Click It Till You Find The Appropriate Video Channel.
Unfortunately the ILO TVs aren't a good investment. If you just purchased the television, I would return it as soon as possible and purchase a more reliable and well known brand. ILO support services is almost non-existant and there are several comments on other blogs regarding the Ilo brand. I have two ILO 26" HD, which I purchased in Aug '06 and am now beginning to experience problems.
Just run your outputs from your cable to the ILO inputs, then your ilo ouputs to the tv inputs. Use Cable remote to control channels, use ILO source button on remote to access the correct input setting on ILO. AND YES< you have to do this EVERY TIME you turn the ILO on to watch tv.. I have mine hooked up this way to record from my convertor box and My husband hates it.(when he just wants to watch tv.)
Can you try just running a/v cable from your tv output to the inputs on the ilo, then whatever you watch on your tv you can record on your dvd burner. My new SDTV doesnt have audio out except Coax so this won't work for me on that tv. Why doesnt the newer tv's have audio AND video outputs???
Press Menu, press up and down arrows to choose the Input Select option then press side arrows to set the channel. Tuner will automatically cycle through all available channels in your area. After the Auto channel search is complete make sure the Channel source is set appropriately (TV or CATV) by pressing up and down arrows and chossing the correct source by pressing the side arrows using the channel setup menu. Press Menu to return to the TV screen. Use CH/TRK arrows or CHANNEL arrows on the front panel to cycle the DVD+VCR through the channels in memory.
I think you are out of luck, unless you can find someone else who owns one, and will let you use their controller to program a learnable remote.
I have purchased, and returned dozens of universal remotes...not one has worked.
