The same thing is happening to me. it will not turn on with the battery. then when i plug it into a wall socket or usb power, the orange light blinks on for about 1 second then turns off and nothing happens. No charge and the DS Lite will not turn on, even off socket power.

I've got the same problem with my daughter's DS. You plug it in the light comes on for 1 second and then nothing.

This unit is only 6 months old and she says she didn't drop it or damage it in any way.

me too. i got it for christmas in denmark, and when i tried to charge it using a voltage converter it would do the same thing. then when we go to the u.s it worked perfectly. now, two years later, i come back to denmark and guess what? same problem.

it worked at my aunt's house, not at my uncle's complex, and not at my grandparents 60+ year old house and guest house. I can't really walk over to my aunt's house, and we wouldn't be there for long enough to charge it...

After researching this for a while, i heard that it is because the fuses have blown inside the ds. you can try to fix it but it is risky.
good luck!

Either the charging port in the ds is broken or the charger is broke. If the charger works fine then i'ts the ds. Bring it back to the retailer and tell the clerk the problem. Most stores will let you get a new for free as long as there's still a warranty.

When charging DS lite the light stays orange

The issue is not with the fuses or with the battery. That end is working properly if the light stays a constant orange. The issue is with the other end, how the system powers on. Check the power slider (on mother board) or the L2 inductor (located below the slider). Chances are the tab on the slider has broken off or the L2 slider broke off from the motherboard.

When put to charge only the orange light blinks and it does not turn on please help

How long have you had your Nintendo DS?

Your system battery might have maxed out on the # of charges. If that is the case, order one online.

We had this problem with a brand new DS Lite...turns out it was a bad charger. If you have access to another charger, try that first. Good luck!

When plugging power to the DS lite the led flashes orange once

I think if the orange light flashes once it means it has a full charge.

Ds lite suddenly stopped working

The orange light goes off when the battery has been charged to its highest capacity. After every charge, the batteries capacity is decreased. Get a new battery, that should do it.

Nintendo dslite wont turn on.tried charging it wit 3 different charges and it still wont charge

Ensure that you are properly recharging the battery.

1. Insert the small end of the adapter into the external extension connector (labeled "5.2V=IN") on the back of the Nintendo DS Lite, just next to the SLOT 1 Game Card opening.

2. Swing the prongs on the AC adapter until they lock into place, then insert it into a standard (120 volt) outlet.

The plug should be mounted vertically or on a floor outlet (such as a power strip).

3. Once the adapter is properly inserted, the unit will begin to charge (the orange charging light will display).

4. Once the DS Lite is fully charged, the orange charge light will go off.

Check the AC Adapter for damage (such as bent prongs or split wires). If you see damage to the AC Adapter, purchase a replacement from Nintendos Online Store.

Try plugging the AC Adapter into another wall outlet. Its possible the outlet is not working properly and has not been charging the Nintendo DS Lite.

If you are unable to get power to your Nintendo DS Lite, despite trying to properly recharge the unit, then your system will need to be repaired.

Nintendo offers convenient repairs, fast turnaround times and, for all systems repaired, a new one-year manufacturer's warranty.
