Do I need to change the RAM and buy new one.

  • manish_54 Apr 18, 2009

I have only one set of RAM and two slots. I have tried to push RAM in both slots and it keeps on giving the same beeps. Probably RAM do have some issue. Will buy a new one and see if it works.

    Thanks Buddy for your support...

It is a problem with your RAM. Please try remove and replace the ram tightly on that port or another one. It should solve your problem.

memory size decrease means less memory then the last startup. please try one Ram at a time on different slots. Seems, you have more than one.

surely the Ram is the problem, Thanks

Computers doesn't startup and has no beep

remove the RAM chip and start the computer without the ram chip inserted and see if you get beeps if yes the motherboard/bios is ok, even if you dont get to hear any beeps, try rubbing the edge of the ram which goes into the ram slot using a Eraser and then reinsert the same back in Ram slot and then see if you can at least get to bios and see if hard disk is detected as windows boots from hard disk if yes check if you can boot to windows if no may need to reinstall windows.please reply with results so that can help

Mother board does not make beep sound

this could be just about anything. Check to make sure the power supply is plugged in to all the correct ports, check to make sure the RAM seated properly.

My 8i845gvm-rz motherboard giving me continuous beeping sound, I am not evern able to go in startup/ BIOS settings.

OK, because there is different beep codes for different problems, hence, you will need to be more specific on the particular beep code you are getting.

Please let me know when you have the sufficient information.

Kind regards

My bios speaker will beep on startup but nothing more. What avenue should I approach to get past this part of startup?

First you need to know which BIOS you have and how many beeps it is producing... these beeps are the POST - Power On Self Test. They tell us if there are problems such as missing keyboard, video card not working, memory faults etc...

Then you need to go to the appropriate BIOS site and see what the number of beeps mean.

If it is a single beep - it means all is well...
As you are not getting anything more you should check to see if the Hard Drive (HD) light flashes - if so - the HD is probably operating ok and loading your system but there is either a problem with your monitor or video card... borrow another monitor and see if that helps...

But it all depends on the number of beeps you get and what kind - long and short beeps (like morse code).

If this helped you at all please vote!

Motherboard keeping beep and the computer can not startup..

Different kind of beeping have different meaning.. But, the common problem is your hardware allocation on the board. Just try to pull out the ram and insert it back. Do this also on your vga card. By the way, what type bios do you use? e.i : pheonix, award, IBM. Explain the type of beep of your computer.
