Coffee won't brew

I tried to use my new coffee maker for the first time. I put the coffee in, fill it up, turn it on, but no water comes through the shower head to brew my coffee. It just makes a lot of steam and then turns off. Help please!

My coffee pot has a side reservoir for the water and when I press the 'on' button it sounds like it is brewing but the water will not leave the side holder. You can see it still there. All the buttons work and steam comes out of the top but the water will not go through to make coffee. I haven't tried anything to fix it - I am a 70-year-old woman and have no mechanical skills at all.

I cannot get the water to flow into the pot to make the coffee. It will make about one cup of coffee in the pot, and then stops, even though I have the reservior filled to 12 cuos. And, a lot of steam comes out of the top. I have had the unit two weeks. I had returned my first one for a new one after a few days, as it did the very same thing.

Capresso cappuccino coffee maker makes steam, but when you turn the knob to release the steam to make foam, steam does not come out.

It is probily the thermal switch between hot wire and element. Check to see if you are getting power through this switch.

Hot water will not come down thru coffee

Your pour over coffee brewer has a reservoir that holds more than a pot of water. First thing you need to do is turn off the machine. Then put the empty coffee pot on the burner. Then take another container and fill it with fresh cold water and pour it slowly into the coffee maker until it starts to come out into the coffee pot. Stop pouring in water.

Now turn the machine on and let it heat up. Now you can brew normally. The reservoir has to be filled before you turn it on or you will end up eventually burning up the heating element.

Hi. Sounds like a blocked or jammed brew unit. Remove brew unit and clean. To properly do this, you need to disassemble the brew unit. Canbe quite hard to do. The brew units are usually held together with plastic tabs, and may have to remove some screws to allow these tabs to release units assembly. Dazza REPAIRER

The light is on to clean it and I do not have an owner's manual. Can you please explain? How do I get the light to stop blinking?

Most coffee makers are cleaned by filling the reservoir with undiluted white vinegar (3 cups). (Do not add coffee.) Remove the water filtration disk if you use it before starting. Then start the brew cycle as if making a cup of coffee (including putting a paper filter or the permanent filter in the filter basket and close the lid). Put a decanter on the warming plate. After brewing, turn off the coffee maker and let stand for 30 minutes. Run another cup of vinegar through the coffee maker. Take the decanter filled with vinegar and discard the liquid (pour down the sink drain). Rinse the decanter. Fill the reservoir with clean water and put in a new paper filter (or clean the permanent filter and put it back). Again do not add coffee. Run a brew cycle to rinse the unit. Discard the water that is in the decanter after the brew cycle. Do a second clean water only brew cycle (with new empty paper filter or permanent filter after cleaning again). However, if you notice an odd taste, repeat the rinse cycle.

You can alternatively use the Mr. Coffee Coffee Maker Cleaner (mix as directed on that package). In either case, this removes mineral deposits (calcium from hard water). For soft water, the cleaning should be done every 80 brew cycles. If you have hard water, do this every 40 cycles.

The manual is available from , if I have the correct product version. For some reason this site isn't coming up for me today. Check the manual to find out if there is any specific details for cleaning that aren't shared with other Mr. Coffee products.

I hope this helps.

Water doesn't come down when brewing

I had the same problem, and it turned out it was the top needle that was clogged. I used a safety pin to clean out the needle and it worked again . . . I descaled immediately, just in case it needed that too. I am back to coffee goodness!

I have a Bunn model VPR, I can fill it up with water, plug it in, no water. turn it on, no water. it gets hot. I opened it up, there is no restriction. What coulf cause this?

This is a pour over unit.

You fill the tank with water, it heats the water in the tank.
When the water in the tank is at brewing temp, the lite should go out.

To brew coffee with this system, you put a filter in the brew funnel, put coffee in the filter. Place the brew funnel in the slide tabs to hold in place. put an empty decanter on the warming plate under the brew funnel. Then take one decanter of fresh water and pour it in the top of the brewer where it says "WATER ONLY" the coffee will begin brewing immediatly.

3-Pot coffee Maker instructions

The first time you use the machine you need to make sure it is full of water - before you plug it in and turn it on. Put an empty coffee pot under the brew basket and fill another empty pot with clean cold water.

Pour the water into the coffee maker. If water comes out then you can plug it in and turn it on. The water heating tank holds about 2-1/2 pots of water so if your machine is empty you will need to keep adding water before you turn it on otherwise you may burn up the heating element.

After the green light comes on - indicating that the tank is hot you can brew a pot of coffee. This machine is meant to be left on all of the time so it is always ready to brew. If you choose to turn it off when not in use, you will need to give it about 10 minutes to fully heat up the water before you brew.
