Word is anything BUT free, and you must purchase it
online if you want to use it continuously without nag
screens asking for a product code which you would
obtain if you did purchase it.

If you want the functions at no cost, then you are
a customer for OpenOffice.org at which site you
can download a full Office Suite which imports
all documents including those intended for Word, as well as Excel and other programs which form the basis
for Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word.

Microsoft office 2007 product key

i don't know where you got your Microsoft Office 2007 from but I think if you check carefully you might find that it is not genuine.

if you bought Microsoft Office online from a genuine authorized microsoft retailer then you would have received the product key with the software. there are some websites online which claim that you can download Microsoft Office 2007 from them but as far as i know there is nowehere on the internet where you can download a genuine copy of any Microsoft Office software except the official Microsoft website.

the only legal downloads of Microsoft products are available only from Micrsosoft and Microsoft do not offer downloads of old products like Microsoft Office 2007 or Office 2003. the only Microsoft Office product you can download is the trial version of whatever latest version of Microsoft Office that is available. currently you can only download Microsoft Office 2010 trial. trial versions of Microsoft Office are free to download but can only be used for the limited trial period. after the trial period ends you have to upgrade to the full version and pay Microsoft for an online activation code which unlocks the trial version's time limitation and allows you to use it indefinitely.

if you need this type of software but do not want to or cannot afford to pay what Microsoft Office costs, then you can use completely free software like OpenOffice, which is very similar to Microsoft Office and can even be used to open most Microsoft Office documents. you don't have to pay anything at all to download OpenOffice.

the website for Microsoft Office trial and activation code downloads is - www.microsoft.com

the website for OpenOffice is - www.openoffice.org

I ask you what price I buy a software "Mircosoft

I suggest that you buy and install only a genuine licensed version of Microsoft Office 2007 or you will almost certainly have authorization problems, which defeat the object of installing the software.

You can obtain a genuine licensed version of Microsoft Office 2007 Professional Plus Edition starting from about $85 or Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus Edition for about $78 (plus shipping and packing) from (and similar websites):

I just bought this brand spankin' new laptop and it has Vista on it... then the MS Office Home/Student 2007 and that kept asking me for a Prod Key... I tried the one on the laptop.

Hi there!
You should ask your laptop retailer if the Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 that is installed in your computer is a full version or just a trial version. Normally, if that is a full version, it should come with an installation disc and the product key should be on the package where the disc is inserted.
Hope this helps.

The version of Office that came installed on your laptop was only a trial version. You must pay for the full version to continue using Office.

I just bought a Toshiba laptop with Window 7 loaded on it and now I am being asked for a product key when I try and open word. They loaded the 2007 Microsoft Office Home and Student on it.

You only get a 60 day TRIAL from microsoft.
Either pay for the full product (about £60)
Download a FREE office suite - Open Office
Uninstall your trial version and download a Full version with serial and activation patch.

I need the product key for microsoft home

Probably, the version that was installed was a "time-limited" and "trial" version. So, since the "trial" period has expired, you have to pay money to get a "full" license-key.

Do you qualify for the $59.95 price, via:

Office H&S 2007 was working now asks for product key

Did you bought only the license or with the cd? if only the license you have to contact Microsoft so they renew your license key, but if you do bought the licese with the software, you have to uninstall the old trial one and load the new cd.

Thanks for using Fixya
