Saniflo ejector experiencing shaking when flushed

My basement saniflo toilet is shaking pretty significantly when flushed for the past week or so. I have stopped using it until I figure our what the issue is. It about a year old and has never had problems. Any suggestions? I'm hesitant to try and open it to see what the issue is since I didn't install it and am not that familiar with it's workings.

I have included the installation instructions. It also includes an expanded veiw of the toilet. The troubleshooting area can give you ideas. From what I read, it is possible that something has feel into the grill. Hopefully this helps.

We have a basement bathroom. The bath drains away very slowly, but everything else seems fine - toilet and sink draining/flushing fine. Can we use a usual unblocker (eg sodium hydorchloride) to unblock?

I worked on a lot of Saniflo products, they do not recommend using any products that have bleach or chlorine. Make sure the flapper inside the side inlet where the bath drains, is not obstructed.

My saniflo has started to go slow- it now does small pumps - one every 30 seconds so takes 5 minutes to drain the bowl. I'm pretty sure no foreign objects have gone into it as it's only me and my wife...

Typically when solids don't leave the toilet after one flush or if it short cycles like is doing, then is definitely a pressure problem. Is the unit vented via an 1 1/2" vent pipe to the open air? Please disconnect the vent pipe and leave the vent connection open to the room, flush the toilet and check if it makes a difference. Air must flow in and out of the vent pipe at all times so it can work properly. An obstruction on the vent pipe can cause this issue. Also could be calcium build up inside the rim of the bowl. Pour a few cups of vinegar on the toilet tank and then flush the toilet, it should get rid of calcium right away.

We just istalled the Saniplus in our basement. the macerator pump is pretty loud when the toilet is flushed. Is there anyway of covering the box to muffle the sound?

Hi,

Yes you can make the unit sound a bit quieter by sitting it on some foam or bubble wrap as I am guessing it is presently on floor screed or tiles?

I have mine boxed in and tiled (plywood with tiling on top and plastic edging). It is put together so that it can be removed for maintenance of the Saniplus unit. You can also put foam or some insulation in between the Saniflo unit and the boxing-in to deaded the sound.

It unfortunately will never be as quiet as a conventional toilet flush but that is one of the trade-offs

If this helps please leave feedback, if not let me know and I'll try and help some more

It really sounds like something that shouldn't be there is in the macerator/ejector. If you are not familiar with the internal workings, call the plumber who installed it. Best case scenario, it is just something that needs to be removed. Worst case scenario, the macerator/ejector and motor bearings are shot and need to be replaced.

We had that problem but the unit was built in and I could not get at it, the outlet pipe sounds like it is blocked, I cleared mine by connecting a pipe from the cold tap to the outlet pipe and flushing.

Water backing up into my basement ejector pump during heavy rain

I have seen this problem several times before. The ejector pump should be in a separate crock in the ground by itself. Someone has installed it in the crock that is meant to pump out drain water. Probably the result of adding a bathroom in the basement. You need to bust another hole in the floor and install a separate crock to solve this problem correctly. If it just started happening go outside and look at he gutters to make sure water is running away from the house and not up against the foundation.

Please rate if this helps-
