Question about Cyberhome CH-DVR1500 DVD Recorder

1 Answer

Pioneer 5070HD, Onkyo TX-SR605S receiver and Cyberhome DVR 1500 connection

I had a professional installer install my DVR 1500 to an Onkyo TX-SR605S receiver and then to my pioneer 5070HDTV. He could not get a screen from the DVR on my TV to setup the DVR to play the disk. Have you had any experience with this problem or can you offer any help? I think he said it was connected to the S-Video. Thanks

Re: Pioneer 5070HD, Onkyo TX-SR605S receiver and...

You may have fixed your dvr1500 by now but i just came across your signal problem today,so if it is still not working try putting a cable from the yellow video out of your 1500 to tv video in ,switch to this input on your tv and you should get a picture.after this is done set output on 1500 to composite and put into cbl/sat on amp,put hdmi cable from tv into hd out on amp, go to setup input assignment ,click on this to get monitor out, click again you get hdmi mntr flick right to switch on,put your tv to hdmi and you should have a picture.
hope this helped.

Won't detect any discs

The optical laser pickup is fu.k.d up.  You might as well throw away this cheap piece of sh.t and buy you a Sony or Pioneer.  There is a reason why name brand costs a little more- they invest in R&D and product quality testing.
If your handy you can open this puppy up and install a new optical lens, but why bother when you can just go out to the store and pick up a decent DVD player at a reasonable price.

Can't record from tv to dvd

I think you would have to run your sat line through the DVR-1600 first (Line In) then connect directly from the DVR to one of your TV Line-Ins (Audio R, Audio-L, S-Cable Video).
And then use the Cyberhome TV Tuner to record off your sat.

CyberHome DVR 1500

The 1500 needs to have a cooling fan installed and possibly the power supply repaired if it has been damaged from overheating to make it work reliably. It's rare but the DVD drive sometimes breaks or wears out. You can test it on a PC with instructins on my website here:
