Question about Samsung YP-Z5 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Frozen on USB Screen

I have a Samsung YP-Z5AP mp3 player (pink version, 4gb).

I was adding music to it and my computer suddenly dropped recognition of the device, and then all the mp3 player said was "USB connecting" while it was still connected. I removed it and it wont move off the screen "USB finishing". It wont recognise any buttons being pressed expect off/on, yet its still on the usb screen once you turn it back on.

Do I have to reset it? If so will that wipe all my music on the device?

Troy.

No, I don't think it will delete all your data... I have one like that... and it never deleted any files when I reset it... But hopefully, it will work since this happens to me too... just not in the USB thing. Reset, check the device, ok? then you're ready to go!

Use a toothpick to clean out the lint in the usb connector. If you use the mp3 player a lot without the cap lint will build up and cause misalignment when plugging it in the pc.

Hello in my samsung yp-u1 i have deleted all the files which were there in it and added new songs and when i switch on there no songs but if i attach it to computer and see the songs r there plz help me...

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

I have a samsung yp-u2 mp3 player, but dont have the software to install or remove music on the mp3 player. I have tried the download.com and also samsung site, they dont have it either.

You don't need that actually. The computer will just recognized this as removable drive. Open up My Computer then plug the device on USB port, then it will pop up as removable/additional drive. Explore, then goto folder or file folder usually MUSIC folder or where you put the music files.

You can drag and drop MP3 files and delete it. Software dismount it and take off and you are ready to play it.

Hope this helps you.

Samsung yp s3 doesnt work on xp

I have Windows XP and Media Player 10.

I had same problem with Samsung media studio not recognizing MP3 player. Here is how I fixed it. With the MP3 plugged in, I had to go into System/ Hardware/Device Manager and find the S3 driver under "Windows portable Media" and uninstall it. Then unplug and replug the S3 into the usb so that driver gets reinstalled.

Then I decided windows media player and samsung media studio are unnecessary for transferring music files to MP3 player.

Instead I go into Portable Media Devices from the control panel and just treat the MP3 player like a usb device. I copy folders of music and songs into the Music folder on the MP3. For me this is way easier than the Samsung music studio or Windows Media player.

With the YP-u3 connected to the USB port and internet connected, start Samsung Media Studio software, you should get notification of a firmware update to download which fixed the recognition problem for me
