Question about TV Receivers & DVRs
Display flashes "loading" hdd starts but machine doesnt respond to remote or front buttons dvd drawer doesnt open when asked and machine refuses to do anything will just flash if left and doesnt shut down there were 2 capacitors in the power supply with raised tops these have been replaced but fault still persists any help greatly appreciated
Replace D5103 and D5105 ( Under Heatsink! ). As a precaution replace C5103 and check R6108 and R5109. Any electrolytic capacitors with domed tops should be replaced. This fix also cured machine that flashed the DVD and HDD lamps but had no other functions.

OK changing the caps only resulted in proper filtering and voltage smoothing and did very little to solve your problem. Now what swollen caps are a sign of is an over voltage condition. what I would suggest because you may have a bad voltage regulator, is that you have to get a schematic and measure the voltage levels on the power supply to determine if they are correct or not. This will tell you if the regulator is bad or not. You do have a power supply problem you just have to determine where in the power supply. This can be done with the schematic and a voltmeter.
