Check your vent behind the dryer is not kinked. You must have good airflow. Also check outside where the dryer is venting to make sure the little trap door is not stuck or clogged. If you have not checked your lint filter that would be the first place to look. Also, make sure your loads are not too large. good luck.

Ge gas dryer heats but doesnt dry

if the flame is lighting you have lint blocking the air flow either in the dryer or in the vent line, also if you have a flame for the first 10 to 20 minutes and then the flame doesn't light you have bad gas coils located on top of the gas valve, when the coils are bad they can work for the first 10 to 20 minutes until the coils get hot and then they fail and you'll see the ignitor glowing orange but no flame, bad gas coils.then when the coils cool down they can work again.hope this helps.you can try removing the vent line from the back of the dryer and see if the flame stays on,if lint is blocking the air from blowing out the flame won't stay lit long enough to dry the clothes.

The top of the dryer gets hot when temp control is not set on off

One of your heating elements has broken and welded itself to the heater housing. When the timer is activated L-2 powers the remnant through the timer to the neutral. You need to unplug the dryer and fix the heater element. 9b8cf19.jpgbc36f64.jpg97143cb.jpg

My GE Profile Harmony Dryer is no longer Heating

Does it get hot when you turn it on, and then never gets hot again while its running? On my dryer the solenoid broke, when the dryer was cold it worked and the dryer operated properly because the dryer and solenoid were cold and the solenoid wire was closed, when the dryer was hot enough the solenoid opened and the heat would not restart. the solenoid is a coiled wire which is used to open the gas valve.

GE Dryer Model #DWSR483EB2WW Dryer tumbles,

Does it get hot when you start the dryer, and never gets hot again when its running? The solenoid wire might be opening due to heat, the solenoid is responsible for opening the gas valve, and booster valve. The wire is located in a round plastic sleeve with two electrical contacts sticking out.

Why does my apartment fill up with moist air and fumes whenever I use the electric dryer on my GE SpaceSaver stacked washer/dryer combination?

You have a 4 inch duct hooked to the back of the dryer. The hot air, moist air etc. go through it to wherever it is vented to. Outside, attic or inside your apt. if it has come loose.

No heat

ok so you have some heat.your dryer unless an ge one has one element so if you have heat its working.then what you have is an exust problem.once you heat up the clothes and cause the moisture to evaporate then it must be able to leave the dryer or it reclings to the clothes, hence lond dry times.to test this dry a load with the venting undone and the dryer pulled out.dont worry it wont start a fire/never!its about 180 degress to 130 of moist air. if ok then confirms that venting is blocked.some times dryers get blocked internaly also but do the other first.God bless, tom

there is a blower wheel that move the moist heat air out,i think you have a clogg on the dryer vent side or the wall vent side, they need to be cleared or the dryer holds the moist hot air in the dryer and takes forever to dry,let me know how you do--mike

GE Prodigy Electric Dryer not getting hot

The exhaust hose in the back will not affect whether the dryer will heat. The hose just removes the used hot air to a place outside your house. I assume dryer drum spins, but you get no heat. If the dryer has gotten a few years of use, I suspect that the heating element has gone bad. Have you noticed that it has taken longer and longer to dry clothes than it used to? If so, most probably the element is bad. The element is not unlike a heating element in an electric stove, and is housed in a duct inside the dryer.
