Re: xbox 360 elite jammed
This is not a new issue and Micro$oft is well aware of it.
your modifications may effect your warranty depending on what you have done to it.
Either way here is a link you can check out to assist you in making a decision.
This is sometimes based on an overheating issue and you may want to consider an exchange after looking at this new MS press release.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

It needs a new drive chassis, you will have broken the little plastic tabs that hold the tray level and straight! you can replace the drive but the new drive will need either the old logic board off the broken drive fitted to the new drive or the dvd key dumped off the old drive and flashed to the new one to make it work.
The Xbox 360 is backwards compatible with certain games that were released for the original Xbox. Currently there are more than 200 BC titles with more being added all the time. Big name titles such as Halo, Halo 2, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Ninja Gaiden Black are just some of the Xbox games you can play on Xbox 360
There is a requirement for backwards compatibility and that is you have to have a hard drive for your Xbox 360. If you bought a Core system you can't play original Xbox games on your system until you buy a hard drive
Halo 3 is buggy disk , I have 2 brand new copys of halo 3 for testing repaired drives
and found that of all the 360 I repair, benq drives will read 99% of the time the hitachi
seem too slow on the seek time to get a
lock/read resulting in a dirty disk error.
Halo 3 does not play on all 360
its just a picky disk .There seem to
be two xboxs thoes that will load halo 3
and thoes that will not.
If i's only the Halo 3 game that doesn't work, and all of your other games do. Then you should take the game back to the store you purchased it from, and exchange it for a new one. If it still doesn't work, then I suggest getting a new xbox. As my brother has the same problem, but with a Call Of Duty game.
my halo sometimes does the same thing when i start up the game but pressing a usually gets you through it, but if your xbox 360 overheats within minutes and is an older xbox 360 its usually a burnt out fan or just full of dust, if its old then ur warranty might already be out and if it is just open up the xbox and use an air compressor or anything else to get all the dust out of the xbox. in my case everything was just caked with dust. anyways... good luck
It sounds like you have DVD drive issues. You did not say how old your machine was, or how long it's been since you bought it. Microsoft is being nice these days and will fix it for free if it's not old. So the best thing to do before you do anything is give thenm a call 1 800 4-MY- XBOX and see if they can help you. If not, then I can tell you that repairing this system is not easy and I definitely would not recommend you open it and try to fix it yourself. I'll be more than happy to fix it for you, but I don't know where you are. Good luck.
I suggest you use a Router, the Xbox 360 have had some issues with Crossover Cables. A cheap $10 switch or router will help you play your fun game of prey. And Halo 3 is coming out in September, I'll be getting it and I hope you will too.
