Hi

I have a toshiba sat A85 laptop. My daughter spilled water on it and now it wont turn on. You plug it in and the power led and the battery led light up. once you unplugg it it goes out. Also when you plug it in the fan will spin a couple of times, but then it stops. Any help on how to fix this would be great. I have already taken it completely sppsrtsnd dried it.

Removed battery first. You should disassemble it to clean and wipe it dry. From bottom to top. Under its keyboard. Don't power it on until you are sure no water remains.

Then why not try to clean the RAM card. Clean the edge connector with soft eraser. This could be one of the reason.

For some input. My friend, a cellphone technician always recommend when a cellphone get soak in water quickly disconnect its battery, dont power it on. Have it clean and dry before powering it again. It is also common that battery will get damaged. And this also can be apply to this.

Just for additional input hope it helps now.

Spilled coke on my keyboard, how do we clean it

Hi

Thank you for your query

Best thing would be to get a damp cloth and simply wipe over the keyboard when the laptop is switched off, this will remove the stickyness.

Please ensure when wiping that no water travels into the keyboard which may cause you problems

I spilled tea on my packard bell easynote

Two things to check.
Open the laptop up and re-connect the keyboard connection. It has a locking mechanism so be sure to unlock that first. Also when you're doing that you can see if there's any water (tea) still in there to dry off.
If that doesn't work, then plug in an external keyboard mate, cause the only other way to fix this is to replace the keyboard, the parts to open up the laptop keyboard itself are intricate and it's much too compicated, plus I've never done that (Seeing as that it's all glued together).
Hope this helps, be sure to rate!

I spilled water on my laptop

hi,
since you spilled the water when the laptop was on, the internal ciruits could have been short ciruited. you cannot repair it yourself. please contact a nearby service center. they will give you the information regarding whether it can be fixed or not. but my guess is that it cannot be fixed easily. beacause short ciruits generally blows of the ciruit completely and things like soldering also won't help.

good luck
