Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

1 Answer

Capturing a video from the console

When I connected a camcorder to the TV output with a game running in the PS2, the image screen that came up on the camcorder is fine(with the playstation2 logo and all) until the PS2 loads the game, then the image on the camcorder started to flicker and become colorless(but the TV image is still fine). Can I know what is the problem? With my PS2 setting? or my TV? Or something else?

Re: Capturing a video from the console

It's not a problem, it's designed that way. Its called Macrmedia Encryption. It's so you can't record commercial DVD's onto other media (anti-piracy). Since the game is DVD based, it will not be recordable.

Ps2 no signal to tv

Make sure the Video Output settling is accurate to the TV/connection you are using (i.e. HDMI, analog etc)
This can be changed in the System Settings
If you have recently changed TV's - Set your PS3 back up on your previous TV and then go through the Video Output settings and change to the new TV your are using.
Hope this helps.

Connected to LG TV and getting "no signal" on

Verify that you're on the right input on the TV (Video 1, Video 2, Component 1, etc.).
Also verify you didn't plug it in the output jack behind the TV, you need to plug the cables in the Inpout jack.

I got ps2 console 30004\pal. but has no video signal from it.

That's the Mother Board problem, you should take it to the Sony for servicing or qualified personnel.

Set it on video mode, or check the connections to the TV.

PS2 on a LCD

You will need to go to your PS2 system configuration screen and change from RGB to YPbPr component video output. The 1920ex (remember to switch source to YPbPr) will then correctly recognise the signal from PS2.

Hope this helps you. I am also a 1920ex user.

Firewire connection for ps2 output

The I-link S400 port does not supply power to devices.  If your tv requires a powered S400 port, then the port is not capable of working.  Check the instructions for using firewire on your tv to see if it requires a powered S400 port.  From my experience, the S400 Firewire port is not a video output. The network connection your calling firewire is a slve type situation because is does not have a power output. You can connect the PS2 into a IEEE 1394 network, and that is supposed to be plug and play.

Connecting ps2 to my TV

did you hook the yellow up to a green jack labeld Y on the back? What kind of tv do you have? Some component inputs (the ones with the green Y jack) are not compatible with the video input you have, some are.
