My Notebook (Toshiba Satellite U205-s5057) is only a month and half old .. and the hard drive is making some noise while reading or writing some data. Any suggestion.. should i go and claim the warranty?

A little noise is normal while the HDD is working. Use the warranty if it is too loud.Extra loud is usally a sign of failing HDD.

Satellite u205-s5057 freezes up when online.

Sounds like a bug. Download and install CCleaner and Malewarebytes from CNET. Run CCleaner first, both the Cleaner and Registry, then Malewarebytes on a Quick Scan. If there is a Java or Adobe Flash bug in the laptop, Malewarebytes will find them.
Your not done yet!
Download TDSSKiller for Kaspersky. You can find it on Google and at CNET. Run TDSSkiller and make sure there are no root kits. When you are done with that, make sure you have all your Microsoft, Java and Adobe Updates then Run a Full Scan with Malewarebytes.
Please post how this works out for you.

How do I remove the hard drive in Toshiba SatellitePro A10 EN? (Removing the plastic cover exposes only the end of the hard drive. I'm reluctant to just start pulling on it!

  • The original Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 HDD is fitted into a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 Hard Disk Drive cradle - Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 HDD caddy.

      • Gently remove the cradle from the laptop, yes pull on it

      • Screw the new Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 Hard Disk Drive into the cradle & refit the cradle into the laptop.

How to install toshiba satellite u205-s5057 memory

There is an access panel on the bottom of the laptop remove that and just insert the stick of ram. Make sure that you are grounded when holding the ram as you can shock it with static electricity.

I need to replace my hard disk notebook with a bigger capacity hdd

Toshiba is rather secretive with their documentation. It is hard to find. Google TOSHIBA SATELLITE A10 SERVICE MANUAL and check the available offerings.

You now have a 5400 RPM, ATA 100 drive. You should not have any drive size restrictions. Shops are advertising many large drives as compatible.

I suggest that you purchase only a 7200 RPM drive. The faster speed will perk your machine right up.

I have not worked on Toshiba machines but suggest you have all restore disks and passwords at hand.
