I would suggest NOD32 or try the link below. Kaspersky Free Online Antivirus (Note: It may take a while to install and update itself but its worth it) http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/eng/partner/default/kavwebscan.html Goodluck!

I installed webroot spy sweeper but my computer says that I have no virus protection and webroot will not allow me any access to turn it on.

Uninstall the software from Spy Sweeper go to uninstall and look for Spy Sweeper and take it out of there. Or go to programs and see if it is an uninstall utility. I use Windows Security Essentials it is free and does all of it behind the scenes. You have to have a legal copy of windows and also pass the WGA in order to download it. The problem is people waste their money on software that is not necessary in today's computing world most of it is free and already built in or offered with Windows software operating systems. You do not need much more than this.
If you decide to load it anyway because you purchased it make sure that you go and check to see if you have anti-virus software installed that can be found in the control panel. If not you will also have to purchase external anti-virus software as well to work with this software. There are free ones to use or purchase. Your provider ISP may even have anti-virus free check your provider site to see if it comes with free anti-virus software. I would use Microsoft Security Essentials personally. It does it all removes spyware and things that are not supposed to be there. Click Here to download this free software and read about it. Hope this assists you. John

hi what kind of windows you are running, win xp, win 98, win vista, etc, i will recomend some spy removal as SPYSEEPER you can get it for free for about 30 days, you need it once. go to a friends house and get it from here http://www.webroot.com/En_US/consumer-products.html try to use a cd in stead a floppy nad just installed running windows. an alternative FREE anti virus and anti spyware is avast you can get it here http://files.avast.com/files/latest/avast_home_setup.exe
any of this two apps will run in windows and they will remove the porn ads and will go back to normal.

to use command line MS DOS is a little more conplicated so i will recommend use my links for click by click instructions. good luck

How to clean my computer virus. my cmptr is slow.

HI,
The computer can be cleaned from virus, by using a good anti virus software and a combination of anti spyware and malware softwares. Sometimes one anti-virus program may not be good enough to protect your PC. The best approach is to first back up all your important information like documents and pictures to a DVD or external harddrive.
You can use the following tools:

Computer infected with spy and/or viruses will not work.

To get into the Windows XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode with Networking" and press your Enter key.

Note: With some computers if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.

Once in safe see if you could access the internet and then run this free Antivirus Software http://www.cloudantivirus.com

Virus problem cannot be turned on. It is always off

Well something must have caused you to install a virus program. I"m guessing you already have a virus. Many virus's can disable virus software. You should try an online scan like Microsoft's http://www.microsoft.com/protect/products/computer/safetyscanner.mspx

If it finds a virus you can download repairs for just that virus from places like www.symantec.com Once you get the virus out your software may work.
Personally I can't image why you would pay for the program you bought. Good things on the internet don't cost money. Go download and install Spybot S&D. It's great for spyware and malware because it puts a list of the bad places in your restricted site zones so there's no way you get spybots and malware from them. Then go download and install anti-virus software from http://www.avg.com

Windows xp opens and closes right away

Hi! i can understand your problem. It happened to me once. I tried to run the PC in the safe mode but on safe mode it doesn't run the antivirus program. If you have your harddisk of IDE type then connect your friend's hard disk in your PC as a Slave and Yours as a master.
You can do this from your bios setup.
Then Scan his hard disk by your antivirus software and remove all the virus from his Harddisk.

OR else you can reinstall his Windows.

SpySweeper Anti Virus conflicts with Trend Micro AntiVirus

I would remove Spy Sweeper and Trend Micro. Then I would install the free versions of AVG, Ad-aware 2008, WinPatrol SpyBlaster and ScrubXP .

I have been using this combo for years and have had no problems as long as you keep them updated.
