I would suggest NOD32 or try the link below. Kaspersky Free Online Antivirus (Note: It may take a while to install and update itself but its worth it) Goodluck!

Does verizon have a anti virus for windows xp for verizon customers

In most cases some company's will supply you with an Anti-Virus software program to protect you computer, but I do not believe that to be the case here. If you have internet with Verizon, which I'm going to guess and say yes since you mentioned them specifically, they are not at all required to give you that type of program in any means. Usually computers when bought from a store, will have a years subscription to say Norton or a similar program, but it's up to the owner to either buy or obtain anti virus programs, not the retailer. I would suggest if you are looking for an anti virus program, to either use Avira Anti Virus, or AVG. You can download either of these for free @ Also just to note there are a few other programs that are worth mentioning to help with virus', malware, and spyware, and general "house keeping" on your computer that can also be downloaded for free from filehippo. Ad-Aware, Malwarebytes, Super Anti Spyware, Ccleaner, Defraggler. These are great programs to keep your computer safe and clean. :) hope this helps

How to clean my computer virus. my cmptr is slow.

The computer can be cleaned from virus, by using a good anti virus software and a combination of anti spyware and malware softwares. Sometimes one anti-virus program may not be good enough to protect your PC. The best approach is to first back up all your important information like documents and pictures to a DVD or external harddrive.
You can use the following tools:

Backup all your files to a USB memory-stick or to a CD/DVD-writable disk. Reinstall Windows. Access "Windows Update" to apply all security-patches. Re-install your anti-virus software. Restore your files from your backup.

Computer infected with spy and/or viruses will not work.

To get into the Windows XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode with Networking" and press your Enter key.

Note: With some computers if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.

Once in safe see if you could access the internet and then run this free Antivirus Software

Internet options in IE 8 not working

You could have a virus or trojan in your temp files, start your pc in safe mode, usually tap f8 when starting, try to run internet options
and delete all temp and cookies. I would go to AVIRA and run there online anti-virus scanner. they are the top anti-virus software on the planet, next is Kaspersky then Eset Nod 32.

Windows xp opens and closes right away

Hi! i can understand your problem. It happened to me once. I tried to run the PC in the safe mode but on safe mode it doesn't run the antivirus program. If you have your harddisk of IDE type then connect your friend's hard disk in your PC as a Slave and Yours as a master.
You can do this from your bios setup.
Then Scan his hard disk by your antivirus software and remove all the virus from his Harddisk.

OR else you can reinstall his Windows.

Windows xp pro explorer.exe

Spyware and temp file overload usually are to blame here.

Look and install these two applications:
ccleaner (
Spy-Bot Seek and Destroy

Make sure to close all programs specially anti-virus programs before you install them. Then run them in SAFE MODE.

How to enter safe mode:
Reboot your PC and RIGHT AFTER your PC startup BIOS logo and before Windows kicks in tap the F8 key and a Startup Menu should appear, use your arrow keys to select SAFE MODE and run the above applications. Clean any temp files and clear out any spyware.

Hope That Helps!
