For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing. I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information. RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell. In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question**%$$##

F35 error means that there is some sort of issue
with the steamer electronic board and analog pressure sensor has gone bad.
Check that the hose is firmly attached with the washer and is not blocked. You
can also check the water level pressure switch operation. Please get back to me
if you have any other questions.
This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model FRONT LOADING washing machines. If you experience a problem where the washer does not drain properly or the drain pump makes excessive noise, here’s the information you need to check the drain pump: Symptom: PUMP IS RUNNING, BUT NOT DRAINING PROPERLY.
Unplug the washer while servicing inside the unit.
Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the three 7mm screws under the bottom edge of the panel.HINT: Use a couple of blocks of wood to prop up the front feet of the washer to gain better access to the screws.Once the screws are removed the panel should drop down, and then pull off.If the panel becomes stuck, a slight tap on either side will dislodge it.
Locate the drain pump.It will be located directly under the wash tub (it is the only pump this washer has).
There is an access removal cover on the pump that can be removed to clean out the trap.BEFORE doing this, it is strongly recommended that you remove all residual water from the wash tub & drain line or you will have about a gallon or so inside your washer and on the floor to clean up.
Here’s a helpful way of quickly removing the residual water. If you own a wet/dry shop vac, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum with the shop vac. This will empty the wash tub, pump and drain lines. If you don’t own a shop vac, grab a bunch of old towels and open the access on the pump slowly so that it comes out at a trickle.Allow the towels to soak up the majority of the water.Close the access and stop the water if you need to get additional towels.
Open the pump access and remove once you have all the water drained.Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris.Check the pump impeller and make sure there’s nothing caught in it.Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.
Clean out the pump thoroughly and reinstall the access cover.Make sure the cover is snug, but do not over tighten.
Place the drain hose back in the standpipe (IMPORTANT – DO NOT FORGET!).
With the bottom panel still off, plug the washer back in and select the following on the operator console – DRAIN SPIN, NO SPIN, and then press any button under OPTIONS 4 times (it must be the same button).“C00” will show on the console display as the washer begins diagnostics mode.
Check the drain pump for leaks as the washer fills. The pump is gravity filled and will hold water even it is not pumping.Allow washer to run through diagnostics until it begins the wash tub tumble cycle.
At this point, you can stop the diagnostics procedure by pressing PAUSE/CANCEL 2 times. The drain pump energizes and the washer will begin to drain.
If the drain pump works normal and there are no leaks detected, reinstall the bottom panel and tighten screws.
NOTE: It is normal to have residual water left inside the wash tub under the wash basket. This is why it is important to leave the door ajar when not in use so this water does not become sour.
You can manually Unlock the door Lock System 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Remove the lower kick panel. 3. Reach up along the inside of the front and locate the bottom of the door switch/lock unit. 4. Located on the bottom of the door switch/lock unit is a tear-drop shaped tab. 5. Gently pull the tab down about a ¼" or until a click is heard. 6. The door may be opened. Thank you !!
"5d" is actually, "Sd." It means "Suds." If you pop the top on the washer (there should be some tabs along the front were the top joins it. Take a flashlight and check it out. Use a thin screwdriver, pop the tabs, and lift the top up. Once you pop its top, look inside the front panel. There should be a service manual there unless someone has removed it.) Once you get your service manual, you can join the rest of us Kenmore Elite owners in Kenmore Elite H*ll. If this is the Oasis machine, even though you paid a truck load of money for it, it's a piece of junk. The service manual is the most confusing waste of paper I've ever seen. Odds are, you need to replace either the top computer module (they're defective and were recalled) or the RPS. Check eBay for the best prices on these items. If you believe it's your computer module, call Sears--talk nice--and maybe they'll still honor the recall, which has expired. Once you get it fixed, sell it and get something less computerized because the next thing that will go out is your stator. This is the most cheaply built piece of junk washer I have ever owned. Once you look inside it, you'll see what I mean.
I have now got the manual for the Kenmore Elite washer and dryer coming in by mail. I had gone to the local Sears store and then to the service center close to home. The service center was able to find the manuals and order them for me.
If your washer has a rubber seal around the inside of the door and it has a little opening where the detergent comes into the washer put your hand inside the rubber piece and feel all the way around and see if you feel any holes or cracks in it and that is where it will leak from.
The machine knows when there is water left in the tub and will not function properly because the level switch indicator is still open.Ok, to simplify this ,you have a clogged pump and if there is no access into the machine from the front then look at the back to see if there is.Open the panel and remove the hoses from the pump and remove what is caught in it.Also look into the ends of both the 2 hoses.Don't wash RUGS,MOPS,COIN MONEY,NAILS,JEWELERY,UNDER WIRE BRA'S,OR ANY THING THAT DOESN'T BELONG IN THE WASHER,cause these little things don't make it past the pump, therefor washer leaves water inside and error messages start rolling.
